ARAMARK Uniform Services in Pittsburgh is a total ripoff, don't ever sign that contract because you will get burned. Ask them for references before you sign. They promise you a great deal then three months later jack your rates up, and there is nothing you can do because you signed a contract. Also they never fill the order that you placed for rental products, they will charge you for loss and damage that was not lost by you.
Take time to drive to their office location that is listed here. There is no one their and the place is filthy. Call their references, none of their customers will recommend them. Some customers that have used them in the past include Laidlaw, Panera Breads, Applebees, and Shenango Steel. They will do anything to get you to sign that contract including free jackets, boots, free embroidered uniforms, two weeks free service, etc because they will make it up once they have you commited to that contract you sign. If you need service try Unifirst or Cintas, seem to be legitimate companies.

It's Not Just About the Contract

Yes, you should read through any contract you sign BEFORE you sign it. This, however, does not release either party from their contractual obligation. Our original contract with Aramark was set up on a 3-year term. The ONLY thing the contract says is that the contract will automatically renew at the end of the contract period for a LIKE term unless either party submits a termination request a minimum of 60-days prior to the renewal date.
In our case, they auto-renewed our contract for 5-years. No one from our company EVER signed an authorization for 5-years. I don't think it takes a math major to understand that 60-months is NOTHING LIKE 36-months. Yet somehow, Aramark is still battling our company even the terms of the contract.
During our three-years with them, they have never fully kept up their end of the contract. Uniforms are routinely given back to us in disrepair, even after we point ou the rips/tears to our route driver. Logo labels are left off multiple uniforms each week, or wrong labels applied regularly. Our driver has tried to "sneak" mopheads, mats, and additional rags onto our weekly bill on multiple ocassions. They have misapplied payments and given unclear monthly bills (with no due date).
Needless to say, the end of our contract can not come soon enough. Signing with Aramark has been a mistake from the get go. I would never recommend them and their deceptive business practices. Our company is considering legal action against them if they do no respond to our complaints. Customer service is definitely high on their core values chart.

Aramark Rentals IS a ripoff!

When you carefully read the "contract" which doesn't say its a contract, you will find that it allows unlimited price increases. Signing the contract is like signing a blank check. VERY unsatisfactory experience with this company renting floormats in Iowa!!

They find all kinds off ways to rip you off,I had customers that started with a 12 percent service charge, and after 2 years tis had gone up to 25 percent, thanks to the greedy GM that wanted his superiors to think he makes more money for the company. Also hidden charges they add, inventory maintenance to keep up your inventory?they rent them not buy them.also customers are charged 12 to 14 dollars for damaged uniform pieces that only cost Aramark 5 dollars because they make them themselves, and they charge damages even if they are old. Please consider other companies

Even the Aramark in slc ut is a ripoff. The DORK that replied to your complaint im sure works for Aramark,How misguided is he?right Jim. I mean he says its your fault for not reading the "contract". What does reading the contract have anything to do with Aramark ripping companies off like mine.i'll tell ya one thing....if you get uniforms for more than 6 people from Aramark and they start ripping you off and you tell them to get lost before your contract is up you may as well keep all the uniforms because they will charge you for them anyway,in one form or another.

FAILURE TO READ YOUR SERVICE AGREEMENT IS NOT THE FAULT OF ARAMARK, BUT YOURS

Aramark has always been a reputable company...Its success is based on customer service...is on the Fourtune 500 list of outstanding service providers. Your failure to read your service agreement and sit down with a representative of Aramark Uniform Service, so that you would understand your responsibilities as a rental consumer....many rental customers fail in understanding, that renting uniforms or other product from uniform rental companies like Aramark, Cintas, G&K, Unifirst, etc... is like renting a vehicle...if you don't use the rental car, you still pay for the service provided....if you wreck the car, you pay or your insurance pays for any damaged caused by you, your family or any agent driving the car....Aramark has many ways in dealing with damage and loss charges...usually, if a uniform is damaged or lost, the route driver (representative/RSR) usually contacts the person responsible for the uniform program to explain these charges...if any charges are disputed, usually, a plan is devised, to clear any future mis-understanding of damage charges. Lost clothing is usually caused by the company renting the clothes...employees misplacing clothes, employees damaging and throwing away damaged clothes; afraid of being charged by their employer for said damages and/or fired. In this report...many unfair allegations have been made against a reputable company requires the highest standards of customer service within their route sales representatives...My suggestion to anyone having problems with their uniform program is to document all problems and report problems in writing (ceritifed mail) to their uniform company...usually...all uniform companies have performance clauses in their agreements which state, that if they can't resolve any deficiencies, the customer can exit their contract without penalty...please check with your lawyer regarding your legal rights to your service agreements with all your vendors...and only sign a uniform contract for a minimal of 3 years....communicate communicate communicate....let your vendor know of all deficencies or problems immediately...if no results are done with 30 days...send a certified letter demanding the deficiencies be dealt with immediately...if 30 days pass and no results contact a lawyer, who will help you void your agreement with your current uniform vendor....Good luck to all uniform customers in America....I hope this helped.....
