The Archos 5 IT 32GB in particular (Gen7) from Archos is misleading in its specifications features especially in particular the RAM size of 256MB (188 really) and 32GB storage (more like 30GB) and possibly other listed features not only in the Archos 5 models but also possibley in the other unit models they sell directly or through their distributors here in the USA and other parts of the world. I tried to contact Archos directly about this issue but like always customer support is poor if not completely absent and representative who took the call would not refer or elevate the issue which is very important since laws could be violated by this fraud action of misrepresentation of a product to the consumer.

I warn all considering in buying an Archos unit/ item NOT TO DO SO until this very important issue has been resolved. If I was a law firm looking for class action lawsuit, this would be a very attractive case. The appriopriate Federal, State and international agencies should look into this matter immidiatly. If we can hold Microsoft accountable and others then Archos should not be immune especially since they are clearly being fraudulant to the public.
