Argosy University Los Angeles Left Behind Los angeles, California

Argosy University Los Angeles has ruined my emotional well being. I moved 3,000 miles away to attend classes here in Los Angeles. I was forced to take online classes because of a bad car accident I was in. In doing so, the online experience has been horrible.

In the virtual classroom, I have had 7 professors over a 2 year span who never taught the class. They never attended discussion questions, leaving myself and other classmates in the air on what to do. Some of the professors have taken up to a week to respond to a question on an assignment, resulting in a bad grade because of  the new week starting.

When I contacted the school, for this, they started ignoring me.They informed me it was my fault and the professor was doing what needs to be done. Even after I pleaded with them, I don't know what is going on, they told me the professor was right and again I am the one in the wrong. I needed to focus on my studies.

I had made the mistake a few semesters ago of taking the wrong classes. I was never informed of this because the academic advisor I am assigned to had quit because she "couldn't take us students anymore." Then I get the phone call about a balance I had acquired.

Then the financial aid issues started. I was told I had to take 5 to 6 classes per semester in order to graduate. I had faxed over my schedule of the classes I picked and was ready to go.. Here, I start my classes and noticed that I was only enrolled in 2 instead of 4. So I contacted my advisor and asked her what had happened? She "refused" to return my phone call for over a month.

Finally when I get in touch with her, we go over what I needed to do in order to graduate. I asked her I couldn't tell you how many times which classes I should take for my career choice. She told me she couldn't help me with that, I had to make that choice myself. I told her okay, I understand that, but what classes must I take for this filed. Again, I was told it's something I'm going to figure out on my own.

When I asked her how I could have possibly acquired a balance when I get financial aid, she flat out ignored me, and attempted to change the subject. I became so upset, I began fighting back tears and ended up just hanging up on her.

This had brought me to tears. I am a student, of course I don't know which classes to take for my degree, that's why I'm in school. I don't know these things.

So with all of these issues gong on I became so depressed I decided to seek counseling. Here I am millions of miles away from home, and I am now being told that I can not graduate, but no one can give me the reasons to why.

The emotional breaking point for me was when I had to take a "careers in psychology" class. It was so upsetting because here I am learning how to choose a career and the roles of my school staff in order to aid me in my career choice, and my school does nothing. When I confronted my advisor on this, she hung up on me, and called me back to record my phone conversation without my consent.

I kept asking her why am I being recorded, when did this start? and she ignored my comment and began again telling me she has done everything she could for me and it was u to me. Well keep in mind this is a different advisor, who wasn't even an academic advisor, she was just filling in until they found someone new to replace those who were fired or had quit.

So here I am again, I have a professor who is never in the classroom, doesn't respond to questions or emails, and I am the jerk for calling and asking the school once again what is going on. I contacted student affairs 3 times and was ignored. The dean never returned my phone calls or emails.

My point with this is. Here I am trying to become educated in a career choice I love, my passion, and my question is, what kind of a college charges almost 7k for a class, and the students are left to read the textbook assignments, and that's it? No feedback, no information on what else to compare to, nothing.

How many people have graduated from Argosy who don't have a clue in something such as Forensic Psychology, because they haven't been taught anything except the fact that what they did for a paper was wrong because all they received was a score of let's say 74 points out of 100, or the classroom discussion when their is NO feedback to them? How is a student suppose to learn from this? Where is the learning experience?

I am sorry, I can't type anymore, tears are just pouring from my eyes..
