Filing complaint for life-partner. ADOT, AZ sent him two letters dated 04/10/2008 revoking his CDL stating he "failed to submit medical and/or vision documentation as previously required".

Only a case number dated 04/09/2008 is referrenced by ADOT. He PRESUMES that refers to his annual physical exam by a doctor, which he did have and did submit the complete doctor's report and State forms to ADOT on time! WHAT have they done with his report? Is this another case of delayed, inept ADOT 'getting around to' acknowledging his report and filing it? He thinks so!

A few weeks before that they sent him other letters stating that a pickup truck was identified as his that had been in an accident in Phoenix and was towed and he had to show up in court and PAY! He wrote them that he did NOT own that pickup truck and was not involved in a accident.

This smacks of Chicago Police scams sending tickets to blocks of people downstate Illinois who never drove in Chicago on the dates the police said they were ticketed-a repeat scam for 'extra' police revenue over the years.

My partner is NOT going to oblige ADOT with the 'bonus' minimum $20 fee they want for reinstatement of his CDL plus fees for new original application plus other fees discretionatory on the part of ADOT, nor do anything else(letter recipient performances number coded) it says on the back of the ADOT letter.

This is an interruption of his livelihood (he is not even in Arizona, but working!) and an economic burden on my disabilty status-a violation of my ADA rights, also.

Who else has experienced this undo hardship and scam for 'bonus' revenue inflicted by ADOT?

#9 UPDATE EX-employee responds

get a life

AUTHOR: Joel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 23, 2008

I have to agree with the last poster- all of the issues you describe were really your own fault. The Arizona Department of Transportation has over 5 million customers, and around 4000 employees (this includes MVD and ADOT) You show me a company with the amount of employees vs. the amount of customers (MVD employees about 50% of the 4000) that runs smoothly, and I would have to high five them.

As far as the ADOT Dr. packet for the CDL is concerned- how do you know it didn't get lost in the mail, or misplaced by your 'life-partner', please- stop acting like you could do better- I have seen and dealt with many issues at ADOT (MVD) and know that 90% of the employees have morals and ethics- and are there to serve AZ.

For the $20 fee ADOT charges on CDL/DL apps- why shouldn't they, your wasting ADOT's time, my time, and other customers time when YOU didn't submit the proper parerwork in the first place. They should charge more, a stupid tax.

Get off of your high horse and next time, do a little investagation before you throw blame at somebody making 12 bucks an hour dealing with stupidity all day long. You are the reason ADOT/MVD cannot keep employees and have to charge fees so high to train new people that can't deal with a*ses like you.

Have him go down and get a copy of his record. It will show the status of his license.

Also, this has nothing to do with your disability and in no way violates ADA or any other law concerning disabilities. I feel this part was just a sympathy plea and had no valid reason to be in the OP.

Final update on AZDOT Rip-Off

AUTHOR: Wildboar - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 24, 2008

My partner had traded in a pickup truck to an auto dealer in Prescott for his current pickup. The only thing we can figure out is that the dealer was so eager to get the traded in pickup out the door, again, that they may have not completed all the required paper work. Perhaps some of my partners identity infomation went along with that original truck out the door a second time. Based on the two responses to this posting, I'm going to call the dealership and press to find out just what took place.Thank you for the help!

Self-resolved AZDOT problem

AUTHOR: Wildboar - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 23, 2008

My partner came home, called AZDOT remaining on hold for 15 minutes long distance. AZDOT rep came on, telling him they had revoked his license revocation. But they had NOT sent him a letter telling him that, and he still has the two letters telling him his license was revoked. Where is the letter or two informing him that the revocation was revoked? We many never get that letter from ADOT with the erring ways so far-but his license is status non-revoked for the time being-if what they told him on the phone is accurate(?).

Keep records of vehicle sales

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 20, 2008

You wrote that your partner said he did not own the pickup truck involved in the accident. Did he once own it?

When people sell vehicles in Arizona to another private party, they often neglect to fill out the title transfer completely and neglect to report the sale to MVD. The buyer is then operating a vehicle that is still in your name and with your license plates and registration. Arizona requires the vehicle to be insured and if the purchaser cannot afford it he has plenty of incentive to leave the registration in the seller's name.

Whenever selling a vehicle in Arizona I always recommend copying the buyer's driver's license information. Write the buyer's name and address on the back of the registration and mail it in to MVD as directed on the registration. Also fill in the buyer's name and address on the title as this will make it more difficult to pass the title on to someone else without getting it put in his name.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

I would get this checked out.

AUTHOR: Leticia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 20, 2008

Because all that you have described point to Identity Theft.

It is especially prevalent in the towing of the pick-up comment, when he has never owned a pickup. If someone got a pickup registered under his name, then they were probably using the CDL that he had as well, and may even be the reason why they are saying that they never got said info because other guy (to prevent being caught) said that it wasn't him and that someone was trying to steal it. (a common practice among Identity Thieves they claim that it is the person whom they are impersonating, is just someone who is trying to claim their identity.)
