This report is broken into two parts, the legal misrepresentation and the safety misrepresentation.

Legally, the company ARMagLock claims that Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) has made a CA DOJ ruling that their product avoids the CA legal definition of an "assault weapon" in SB880 and AB1135.

However, FCP is a private political action comittee (PAC) and has no governing or legal authority to make such determinations.

Further, there is no CA DOJ ruling that AR Mag Lock can "avoid assault weapon registration" as the company claims.

ARMagLock routinely censors those who point out this above fact as of Jan 3, 2017.

Safety-wise, ARMagLock prevents the magazine from being released unless the action is opened when correctly installed on an Armalite Rifle (AR Rifle).

The danger occures when there is a double feed malfunction in which the magazine must be released but it can not because the bolt is held back and only can be released when the action is opened, however the bolt being back would prevent the action from being opened.

This is a dangerous condition created by a combination of legal requirements and the product when used properly, however the issue is the company denying this danger and insisting on its safety.

This report is only here to address the specific legal and safety claims, it is in no way intended to suggest that the ARMagLock itself is a bad or defective product.

Report is patently FALSE

AUTHOR: Todd - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 13, 2019

This report is patently FALSE, and misleading. The AR MAGLOCK product line IS compliant with all California laws and regulations. All you have to do is get on the DOJ website and review the regulations yourself.

Additionally, AR MAGLOCK has always told consumers when using the Gen 1 product that you must use removable baseplate magazines to safely clear double feed malfunctions. Lastly on this point we have a Gen 2 locking kit that allows for easy double feed clearing without removal of the magazine baseplate.

AR MAGLOCK doesn’t and never has censored public feedback regarding anything stated in the public domain. They have been very forthcoming with all “opinions” brought to light.

The argument above regarding danger of using the products is a fully moot point when considering we have a Gen 2 product that fully satisfies double feed clearing.

You can clearly see from all of the customer testimonials on the company website that thousands of customers are fully satisfied with the AR MAGLOCK product solutions. http://armaglock.com

Resolving double feeds when using ARMaglock

AUTHOR: Joseph - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Using fixed magazine solutions to State "assault weapon" regulations, such as ARMAGLOCK, are a safety concern because they make it difficult to clear the weapon when a double feed occurs. But despite the fact that the double feed jam cannot be cleared in the normal manner by releasing the magazine, it is still possible to clear the weapon by removing the magazine's floor plate, spring and follower. Shooters using locked or fixed magazines should familiarize themselves with this procedure and have any necessary tools on hand whenever using these devices. Shooters should not use magazines that cannot be opened from the bottom with locked or fixed magazine devices. Examples include magazines that have been permanently modified to reduce capacity where the floor plate has been epoxied or rivited in place. Manufacturers should inform their customers of this problem and its solution prior to sale.
