ARs National Services - ARS Ripoff VIOLATOR OF THE FDCPA!! Escondido California
*Consumer Suggestion: Rights Under the FDCPA
I do owe a debt with this company and I had given them my contact information. A month after I did, they have called and mailed my ex-husband of 4 years about my debt. They have also called friends on their cell phones. I tried talking to them but the girl started yelling and saying that they can call anyone they have information on. She was yelling and interupting me so much that I finally had to hang up. I know my rights through the FDCPA and I will pursue.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Rights Under the FDCPA

Per the FDCPA, they are allowed to call a third party. Also, if they have an address on file for you then that is where they are going to send mail about your debt. If your account was first opened 4 years ago, maybe your ex-husband's home number was your number at the time and possibly the address that they mailed the collection documents to was also your address at the time.
Personally, I would recommend that you let your friends know to tell them not to call them any more and to read more into the FDCPA.
