Major Ripoff by The Reliant Group and it's management company, Senior Lifestyle Corporation who own and manage my apartment complex in Scottsdale, AZ. I was admitted as a patient into the Assisted Living program here at Arte in July 2012 and as part of my treatment, my insurance provided sufficient funds to Arte to pay for the live in Caregiver that Arte hired to take care of my needs on a part-time basis.

Now that the new owner and management company are here, and coming in like real obnoxious thugs with no regard for people's lives, feelings, or relationships here at Arte, they want to say that leasing me my apartment was a technical mistake and even though they have received over $80,000 in Assisted Living benefits for the State of Washington, my insurance provider, they now say I was never a patient and I need to give up my apartment home, my medically necessary live in Caregiver, and more, and move to a small, less then 500 sq. ft. cubbyhole in a designated area.

Unwilling to even assist me with the legal fees and moving costs I have had to lay out, because of what they call their earlier fraud in leasing me an Independent Living apartment rather than an Assisted Living room. Instead of settling like decent human beings and companies that are socially responsible, they want to drag a sick and injured, disabled man, facing hospice through an eviction trial.

In addition, since The Reliant Group and Senior Lifestyle Corporation took over, Arte has plummeted in appeal and luster. The food is not nearly what it was when we leased and were told it was fine dining, 5 star food and service at Arte. Instead there are regularly dirty halls and uncleaned apartments because The Reliant Group and Senior Lifestyle Corporation wait and wait to fill positions as people hear about the labor problems. Four workers told me they were not being paid all their hours.

We have been told at our community wide meetings we were told by our Senior Lifestyle Executive Director, that the property essentially went bankrupt because we were eating too well, at the same time the Reliant Group representative assured us the budget for food had not been cut. Which is it? Did they cut the budget or not? Well, those of us dependent on the food provided KNOW they cut the budget. Gone is the regular steaks and lamb, seafood, and better cuts of meat.

People have been moving out far more and faster than they have been moving in and that is to be expected when the owner projects a complete lack of empathy for the Residents needs that are being paid for monthly, but as we were also told by Senior Lifestyle management, "we can not provide you maybe what you need or expect, because of the low census". AS IF, we were the owner and had to endure the pain of investing the money needed to keep Arte a Resort, or better said, make it one, because right now it is a glorified apartment building that is way overpriced and providing abuse, not care to some residents, like me.

BUYER BEWARE! If they broke my written lease which required they bill the Insurance, not me, what is to stop them from not honoring your lease, after you move in and are trapped in the Arte spiderweb?
