I live next to a house that is leased by Raymond Karam and have had many dealings with Cecilia the Realtor. I have tried to be patient and a good neighbor and had damaged property or stolen items from the tenants at their leased house. A few years ago we wanted to replace 75 ft of fence and called Cecilia to see if she can ask the owner to go 1/2 on the materials. She called us back and said he would be happy to. When the job was done and we called to get payment she informed us that the owner all of the sudden forgot and he told her to tell us he would not pay since he never spoke to us and never told us he would pay. We have had child molesters live at the residence, we have seen the police there many times for domestic disturbances and last year had to deal with neighbors that owned 2 pit bulls that attacked another neighbors dog.We called Cecilia the realtor and she kept saying there was nothing she can do and it was out of her control. The dogs kept trying to come into our yard and kept biting our fence and damaged the bottom of the fence trying to get through. I had to go and be a witness that the dogs were constantly out and that I saw them trying to hurt other animals in the neighborhood. After we went to ACS. The dogs were deemed dangerous. That day the dogs got loose and ACS caught them and took them to ACS. 2 days later the dogs were put to sleep not because the dogs were deamed dangerous but because no one called to claim them. We have had a very tense relationship since then. On Friday 1/15/2010 The son of the renters came over and asked to borrow my extension ladder for 2 workers (one of them was Cecilias son) that were at the residence to work on the roof. It was raining and he said they were trying to fix a big leak. Against my better judgment I agreed  and let them borrow the ladder. On Sunday I went to the back yard and saw that the ladder still had not been returned. I went over to the house and they stated they didn't know anything about it and said they didn't even know the workers had borrowed the ladder.I called Cecilia and her statement was I should have just said no to letting them borrow it. I want to warn all of my good neighbors and let them know what type of people live and own the house. The house is falling apart is full of rodents and the realtor is worthless.I have left many messages for the owner Raymond Karam a tax attorney in San Antonio and he has never called me back. BEWARE!!!!!!

A truthful response...

AUTHOR: therenters - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Although I feel many of the comments in the statement are not completely accurate, the one that I feel is most worth my time to respond to is in regards to our dogs because I refuse to let anything surrounding them be falsified. It is true that they were involved in a dog FIGHT (not attack). Nontheless, they were deemed dangerous by ACS. My dogs were in the possession of my private veterinarian, who lives outside of Bexar County. They did not get loose that day, that is not true. They also did not get caught by ACS. ACS would not even come outside of the city of San Antonio. They were also not put to sleep by ACS. My husband and I made the decision to have the dogs euthanized by our private veterinarian due to the costs and demands put on us by ACS in regards to the dogs being deemed dangerous, that is their standard procedure. Our private veterinarian euthanized the dogs upon our request. As a matter of fact, ACS would not even come pick up the carcasses for disposal. I had to put the deceased dogs in the back of my truck and drive them 40 miles across and into town to ACS. I met an ACS worker at the location at 9pm and surrendered the carcasses to them for disposal. ACS did not ever have my dogs in their possession, nor did they go "unclaimed" nor did ACS euthanize them.

I am not going to rebut against anything else in the statement, as I cannot even speak on anything prior to us living in the home. The fence issue was before we moved in. As for who has lived in the house prior to us or any domestic disturbances with police, I cannot speak on that, again it was prior to us living there.

The house is not falling apart or full of rodents. It is a rental house and is not as well maintained as a home lived in by its owners. It does have issues, as most 30 year old homes do, but it is not falling apart, or I would not allow my 4 children to live in it. It also is not full of rodents- again, I would not allow my children to live in a rodent infested house, that is disgusting. Yes, there were rodents last winter and they were exterminated against by pest control. When speaking to the pest control on why they were there in the first place or how to prevent them, he advised us that in this area, rodents are plentiful due to the elevations and over abundance of trees. He also told us most people in this area do experience rodents. That the reason we had more than normal at the time was due to some open access areas around the bottom foundation of the house- which has also been fixed.

In regards to the ladder, WE did not borrow the ladder nor did WE steal it. Until she came over on Sunday to ask us if we still had it, we didn't even know it had been borrowed.

Also, I myself have never had any problems at all with Cecilia, the realtor. She has been nothing but nice to us and very helpful anytime we have issues with the home.

I will end with that. The truth.
