Early in 2007 I donated a car to Kars-4-Kids in which I received a tax dedication receipt and a free hotel certificate good for one year. In February 2008 I exercised the use of the hotel certificate by contacting Worlwide Travel Center, which is the company that issued the certificate. I made arrangement to stay at Ascutney Mountain Resort, 485 Hotel Rd., West Windsor Vt. 05037., phone # 802-484-3912, for February 2 and 3, 2008.

Worldwide Travel asked for a $50 refundable deposit which I agreed to put on my Master Card.

On February 2 I called Ascutney Mountain Resort as we were traveling to let them know of our arrival time and for any other information and instructions. I received an answering machine and left a message with my phone number. Not receiving a return call I called again a few hours later and left another message and never received a return call.

Once we arrived at the hotel, we identified ourselves, showed the hotel clerk our hotel reservation confirmation, which a copy is attached. Upon arrival we never received a tour appointment time as stayed on the reservation confirmation document. Also during our stay we never received any information on a 90 min. presentation.

On check out day February 4, 2008 the hotel clerk said our bill was $95 in which I asked why. She could not explain and called the manager. My wife and I sat with the manager and explained our situation and showed him the Reservation document and the Kars-4-Kids/Worldwide Travel document and he said he had no knowledge of the companies. He check his computer and he stated the bill was and error and there was not charge. We thanked him and we were on our way home.

On February 11 we received a charge of $150 as stated in the attached document from Vacation Grand Getaways. I am not sure who they are. The charge was for not completing the required 90 minute presentation at the Sherbourne-Killington Hotel. I am not sure who they are also.

I feel I am not liable for the $150 for the following reasons:

I did everything that was asked of me as far as trying to contact the hotel, identifying my self with the document. The hotel did not follow through on their part on letting me know of the presentation.
I did authorize a charge of $50 which I do expect to get back, so the same reason as stated in the first bullet.
I never authorized a charge of $150.
I do not stay at the Sherbourne-Killington Hotel, we stayed at the Ascutney Mountain Resort.
The manager of the Ascutney Mountain Resort assured me that there was not charge.
I do not know who Vacation Grand Getaways is and never authorized a charge of $150 and feel this charge is fraudulent.

I ended up just getting my $50 back from Worldwide Travel Center. Think twice before dealing with Kars-4-Kids, Ascutney Mountain Resort, Vacation Grand Getaways and Worldwide Travel Center.
