Made the huge mistake of using RAC acceptance at Ashley's Furniture. Purchased a sectional sofa - original price (march 2013) was $688.00 + tax.
i have made on time payments every month, except Sept. Called for my PAYOFF balance, was told it was $309.06. Went to the store, paid (309.06) and was THEN told it was an ADDITIONAL $616.79 to pay off!
They said that they 'charge tax every month".
since i had already paid the 309., I will be returning this sofa in November, regardless of what it does to my credit score.
This is beyond highway robbery!
