Breindel Wood advertises counseling on her blog (for $50 an hour) using stolen questions that were never sent directly to her. She has taken these from a private forum that is password protected and has specific membership requirements. Although her activities may or may not cross the line of illegal - she is certainly crossing the line of unethical. She is not someone I would EVER give private information to, as you can't be sure it won't end up published on her website or in some other embarrassing public forum.

It is not worth even a penny for her thoughts. For $50 an hour, there are much more qualified relationship coaches on the internet (even some with a successful marriage!) who have a better reputation for trustworthiness and actual credentials in the field.

AUTHOR: Breindel Wood - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, May 17, 2010
I left Shannon's name and the other women's names off their problem-quotes so as not to embarrass them. I had extracted their posted problems from a chatboard called Stronger_Marriages yahoo group, which she and I and others had been on, where I had been one of the people who answered their problems with advice.

Because the women contacted me and were so upset, I added a permanent memo on my blog that some of my examples were from a chatboard.

Nevertheless, the women began slandering my business all over the Internet. Shannon posted on ripoffreport although her problem has nothing to do with me being a fraudulent relationship consultant as she says. She has never been a client, and in fact, she was happy and appreciative of the free advice I had given her at the time.

Do I feel guilty? Of course, I feel really bad that I unintentionally hurt their feelings. Is that why I took the board down? No it was because of the slandering and mob mentality.

I don't know why people started flocking to me for advice on their relationships and marriages. It wasn't a career I picked out for myself, it just happened.

I took this experience as a sign from God to drop the relationship consulting and focus on my passions, acting and writing.

Thank you to the women and to Rip Off Report for being part of this journey. :)

How is it a hoax? You don't need to be a client to realize that these practices were unethical. There were girls that were hurt by this - you cannot take stories from a private forum and publish them in a public way and then pretend they were questions sent directly to you.

The whole idea behind her blog/forum is a great concept but there are better and more ethical ways of doing so. If there is nothing to hide and Shannon's accusations are not true, why is Breindel's website down? Feeling guilty?

I have sent in a question to Breindel and paid for her service. I am also a member of her free forum. She does not claim to be a psychologist, but I've found her advice to be far more valuable than any of the two shrinks I've ever seen. Shannon private messaged me with the same slander that she is using here, but she wasn't specific about where this forum was or her relationship to Breindel. Unless she gets more specific or has proof, I wouldn't take Shannon's word for it.

This complaint is a hoax. Its author, Shannon from Dallas Fort Worth, TX, has never been a client and cannot and will not be able to provide some proof that the transaction/event really happened.
