This company is the WORST! I was just served with a summons to appear in court for payment to this company for an account that THEY cancelled!
I received a card from ASPEN in 2007 or so in order to rebuild my credit. I also received one from it's sister company, SALUTE. I was never late in paying them and never misses a payment. I then received a letter saying they were closing all customer accounts. I contacted a lawyer who told me that they would follow up but since the company closed the accounts of all customers, there was no use in continuing to make payments, especially since I was on a very fixed income, I was receiving SSI at the time.
Last week I receive a letter saying I owe them $1317!!! How? I have no idea! Today, I receive a summons to go to court in two weeks. I have NEVER had this problem with any other credit card company, NEVER!
Fortunately, I'm able to work now but will have to take the day off from work to deal with this BS! My company has an extremely good legal department, I'll talk with them and if it's a fight that Aspen wants, it's a fight they'll get!
I advise anyone who's looking to rebuild their credit to stay far away from this company and others like it.
