I wish I would have read about this company on this site before I was stupid enough to actually give these people any of my money!
It is so convenient that they don't receive your payment so they can slap a $35.00 late charge to your account and then slap another $35.00 on for overdraft. Then some foreigner will call you up and harass you into sending them more money or trying to get you to fork over your bank info. All the while, I am talking to this guy and he is contradicting himself saying my payment was 10 days late when indeed it was 5 days since my payment was due. He was trying so hard to trip me up it was almost amusing.
All this, 3 days before they conveniently cash the check for the payment they supposedly didn't receive and conveniently after you are stupid enough to send them yet another payment. Do you think that they removed their fees? NO THEY DIDN'T!
I get my mail the next day only to find a credit card offer from Tribute MasterCard, low and behold, THEY ARE ONE AND THE SAME! How convenient that they discontinued Aspen to set up this crap!
I feel like I may be funding Al Quieda at this point. There is never a "domestic" agent to speak to and when I want to speak with someone from let's say collections, conveniently, they are from collections. I am waiting a little while longer to see if they refund my money, if not, I am filing a report with the attorney general to investigate this. From what I understand, another company of theirs, Aspire Credit, does this to its customers all the time. I guess it's a good way to take honest peoples money, just say you didn't get the payment.

Donnalynn,
This company is a trap that you need to get out of now...if you don't it will just be an avalanche of late fees and over-the-limit fees that will only go up.
If you have the money to pay off the balance right now....do so and get out of this situation. Keep ALL communications with them via Registered Mail with Return Receipt...This will cost you $3 but it's worth it. Send a notice that you want the card canceled and for them to send you the exact pay-off balance. BE VERY CAREFUL though...they don't want to let you out of their web...They might not close the account even after final payment....causing more late fees that they'll come after you for.
If you don't have the money to pay off the card....stop using it (tear it up) and just pay the balance down. Pay online if you can or send payment via Registered Mail with Return receipt. These companies have numerous dirty tricks up their sleeves so watch out...watch for the ever-changing due date.
Again, keep all communication in WRITTEN form and use Registered Mail with Return Receipt...talking to them is pointless.
