Just got my credit report, and this is on it:
Collection Accounts: Accounts seriously past due
- ASSET ACCEPTANCE LLC
- - - - -
- Creditor Name: ASSET ACCEPTANCE LLC
- Account No.: 2546****
- Original Creditor: PROVIDIAN
- Responsibility: Individual
- Condition: Derogatory
- Original Balance: $2615
- Balance: $2928
- Date Opened: 10/2005
- Date Reported: 02/19/2009
How do I get these bleeders off my report? I already sent them a letter to cease communications, and got my reply saying they'd stop contacting me. I have disputed them before, but like a little leech, they are holding on. The original account is over 7 years old now, well past the SOL for reporting, but can they keep reporting their collection account?
I am so sick of these people ruining my credit report, how do I get rid of them when they claim my "account" is not even 4 years old?
Fed up!

Write the credit bureaus say this is not my account, and have no verification

do a cease and desist letter to stop all collections and calling. ALSO tell them they do not own the account and can not collect on the account and put it in dispute and send a latter to the credit bureau you DISPUTE THE charges, and look up your sol if it is past they sol just do the same thing to every collector that comes along.
If they call you more than one time you have a right to sue them in small claims court for harassment.
be sure to check your credit bureau once a year in case these collection companies try to re age your account by falsely putting in ghost payments and changing due dates that is a federal crime.
I tore these people up with just a couple letters AND YOU WILL BE JUST FINE DON'T FRET OK :)
