My Name is STACEY WATKINS and I have attended ASTRO GENESIS RECORDS events and have always enjoyed myself and they were always fun and enjoyable.  I have referred people to their events and they always had a fun and enjoyable time.  The event recently in January, I was reading these allegations and I gave Diana Ray a call to find out what happened?  She expressed to me that the Company had put together the show in January and they had issues with flights out due to bad weather conditions in January so flights were cancelled, out of their control, and they hired someone to drive some guests and artists to the event and on the same day and the driver called and cancelled as well.  So, it was her job to find another driver the same day and she expressed to me she could not find another driver to get everyone there and some of the artists to the event. 

I know Ms. Ray and if it was something at she could have done within her control she would have.  Due to the weather conditions around that time, it was "snowing", the roadways were dangerous and she said could not get any flights out.   She told me that she did have a Representative at the venue, while she was still trying to get everyone there in time.  It was a difficult day that day she said because of the inclement weather conditions and it bought things to a halt and it threw the engagement off course.  She told me even though they did not cancel the event, she should have.  As she was trying to get the show on the road, the DJ called to say that he could not get there in time due to the weather conditions as well, so she knew the show had to be rescheduled. She told me that she is aware that people were going to be "upset" about it, and I understand, but she told me the Company will redo the show.  Things do happen in life beyond our control but she told me on behalf of the Company she would make every effort to have that show rescheduled to appease the people that did attend that event and the people that she was trying to get there and that is why she was getting some complaints.

My knowing of Diana Ray is that she is a "good" person at heart and this must have been something that she could not control.  My feelings go out to those that did not get to the event or those that did attend, but did not get to see what Astro Genesis Records has to offer.  I  know they are a Company that really works hard and loves aspiring talent! It's ashame that people take one event and it is blown it out of the water.  They have done many events, I attended them and people had a great time!  And, as far as Ms. Diana Ray, she is a good person and works very hard at Astro Genesis and will work out what needs to be worked out.  And, if she has not contacted you yet, she will.  I know she has alot on her plate over there.

Now, someone wrote something about About Genesis and a trailer. I asked Diana Ray about that and she told me that one of her security people was attending the event and let her work out of his trailer close to the meeting place of departure for the event that day. And, off the record someone had said something about her husband?  She is not  married.  So, that was in fault.

I am sure all of this "hoopla" is from that event and due to the weather condition cancellations.  Diana Ray express to me that she wanted to cancel it due to the weather conditions.  But she did not want to disappoint everyone but she said maybe she should have.  People that attended that event, was upset because was upset due to the DJ cancelling due to the weather whichput a dampeir on the event due to the weather.  Overall, I know Diana Ray, is a good, hardworking and professional person, and I have known her for many years and what I know of her she will work it all out to all that was affected by that day.   She is one of the nicest and kindest persons that I know. Hello Stacey I have also filed a complaint against Diana and astro genesis. Once it is posted, please read. Sad that there are more of us that were scammed. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I am not surprised that Ms. Wells resorted to name calling in her response.  When you have nothing else to say, that is what people do.  As a professional, intelligent person, I will stick to the facts.

1.  Diana Wells states that the showcase took place in a "mansion".  Untrue.  The venue was a small, unspectacular, ordinary beach house.  Where any performance was to take place is still a mystery.

2.  Diana Wells stated that the showcase would include judges, producers, and a representative from Universal Records (who I surmise would be quite surprised they were supposed to be there).  None of these individuals were in attendance.

3.  Diana Wells stated that the even did take place, simply the DJ did not show.  Also not true.  No one performed.  And even if they did, who exactly would they be performing for?  See #2.

4.  There was supposed to be an "after party" with food.  She charged money for tickets to this "seperate" event.  This also never occurred.  Also there was no food.

5.  I never asked for a refund for travelling expenses. I simply mentioned them out of frustration after a very disappointing, misrepresented, evening.  All I asked for was to return the money for a showcase THAT NEVER HAPPENED, an afterparty THAT NEVER HAPPENED, and for sponsor money, to show producers and judges the artist had a fan base, THAT WERE NEVER THERE.

6.  I will conceded the $39 a for each room as we did rest for exactly 3 hours as to safely be able to make the 4 hour return trip home.

Ms. Wells can call whatever names she wishes, I know I am an honest, professional person who would never run a scam such as she is.  I don't think you should get "something for nothing".  My artist and I have attended many legitamate showcases with real judges, producers, and yes DJs, and have NEVER had a problem.  I interact with professionals in the entertainment industry on behalf of my clients every day and have a reputation of integrity and professionalism.  Ms. Wells should try doing the same.

This is Diana Ray Wells of Astro/Genesis Records.  Unfortunately, when you are in the line of business that we are in, every now and then you come across a personality type that is hard to deal with.  And that is Stacey McVaigh.  She wants something for nothing.  So, if you had to deal with Stacey McVaigh, RUN.  She is a "problematic" type of personality and has a chip on her shoulders all the time.  Always looking for "fault" in things.  We feel she is "crazy".   And, as a company dealing with the public you may get that every now and then.  And, that is Stacey McVaigh.  That is my impression of her personality "unfortunately".  And, unfortunately the internet leaves room for people like her to be one of those complaint types to try to get monies out of you, any which WAY, if they can.  And, we feel that is what she is trying to do to us.  You know a type of person that may come into a grocery store and see a spill and fall and want to find a way to get monies out of that store as a opportunist.  We feel, unfortunately that is the type of person she is.  I am sorry to say that about her. 

She is trying to discredit me and our company.  But, we as a up and coming record label is fighting back against her.  Unfortunalely, She does not tell the total truth and she exaggerates.  Unfortunately, we had to deal with her.

This is Astro/Genesis Records, in answer to Stacey's comments or complaint, the event took place. It was not cancelled neither doors closed. In fact, Stacey was the 1st one with her guests to enter the mansion home. She was there before anyone else came. She got there early. And, we even left the door open for her, in particular, to make sure she got in and settled in with her and her guests before anyone else showed up to make them comfortable. I was on the phone with her when she entered the home to make sure that she was comfortable. I asked her if there was heat, was it warm enough? And, she replied yes. She had ordered two (2) rooms in the mansion home to stay overnight. She was the 1st one to enter the home, because I was on the phone with her telling her to have 1st pick over the rooms that she and her guests selected. So, I knew she was there. The event was to take place around 8pm and she arrived around 7:15pm that evening approximately. And, I told her she can enter the home because I made provisions to keep the venue open for her so that she and her guests can relax and get ready for the event. So, she was there. At 8pm other guests arrived. Astro/Genesis had a representative there on our behalf that arrived thereafter, because she arrive early.

During the course of that evening, our DJ called and said that he was having problems getting there due to the weather, ice on the roadways, it's January you know. So, he assured us that he would be delayed but he would be there. DJ called about an 1/2 hour later and said that he could not get there in time. We on our end tried to get another DJ but it was too late to get another DJ there in time. So, the event went on, we did not cancel. That event took place. It was not on the level that we normally have our events, due to the DJ but it still took place. People were there and she stayed at the venue overnight. We even charged her only $39 per room at a luxury home mansion, as a courtesy to her at that rate, in which we knew she could not get a room at a mansion estate at those prices so we discounted her two rooms at only $39 as a discount to her to make it easy for them to have a place to stay. I see she didn't mention that in her Complaint and she took the rooms gladly at that rate and stayed overnight.

All in all, due to the DJ being late we informed everyone that we would redo the event at a later date to make up for the DJ cancelling and would invite her and her guest to attend for FREE at no costs to them. We feel as long as we are redoing the event and charging them nothing to attend, that is our way of making up for the DJ. That is the only thing that we feel we are responsible for to redo the event and invite her and her guests for FREE. Because, we had the event, the doors were open. She stay and infact stayed overnight, the event took place. If the doors were closed and she could not get in, we can see giving her a refund, but she stayed and stayed overnight.

Now, all of these other things that she is mentioning in her complaint,we never promised. No one told her that we would pay for her to get there and back? People normally come to our events at their own expense. We don't cover your gas, tolls? If you are going to events, unless someone specifically told you they were going to pay for those incidentals up front, I can see she including those. But, that was not promised to her that we would cover that, she is just trying to get extra monies out of us.

So, in conclusion I can see if the event was cancelled, she could not get in, or even if she could not stay at the mansion luxury home. But, she did to everything. She got in, she stayed all night, she slept with her guests at the mansion overnight and left the next day, after enjoying all of that, she expects us to refund her money? PLUS, we are going to REDO THE ENTIRE EVENT AND INVITE HER & HER GUESTS BACK FOR FREE?

We notified her to tell her we will be redoing the event to make up for the DJ and invite her and her guests back FOR FREE WITH NO COSTS TO HER. We even told her that we were interested in signing her artist to our record label.

I'm sorry I do not know what else we can do for Ms. McVaigh. Some people are not satisfied and unappreciative. We gave her 1st picks of rooms for her and her guests at ridiculous low prices at only $39 a room. Who gets a room for $39 in a luxury home. She is not appreciative of that. Some people you just can't please and never look at the better things, but want to find things to complain about. Some people just find a way to enjoy some things then say after they enjoyed it, I want my money back even after she came to an event where the door was open, she got in and stayed and slept overnight, and we are redoing the event and allowing her and her guests to return for FREE.

We are doing all we can to please, Ms. McVaigh. Some people just want to find a way to enjoy things and then say I want my money back after she attended with her guests and stayed overnight. Some people just want to be difficult. I believe we extended everything on our end that we can do with Ms. McVaigh. Some people will find an opening and try to milk you for everything they can if they can get away with it and we believe, sad to say, that that is the kind of person Mc. Vaigh is turning out to be. We would like to redo the event, because of the DJ, and invite them back FREE OF CHARGE, that is not good enough for her. If she did not stay or the doors were closed or cancelled that is one thing, but to stay and stay overnight and then want your money back, that is another.
