I have had a very disappointing experience at astromart.com. I have been a good standing member with astromart.com for nearly 9 months using the same email address. I did change my password a few times throughout this period but my email address has stayed the same. I tried to login just recently and could not as I kept getting a message 'Your username and/or password are invalid'. I double checked and even triple checked my password but it was correct so I decided to use the "Forgot your password" feature. I put in my email address so that I can retrieve my user information but it would not send any information to my email address. I tried this several times with no luck. I finally decided to email astromart.com directly regarding this issue. The email I used was astromart@ymail.com. I believe the owner of the site is Herb York.


I was very kind and asked him what had happened to my account. His initial reply:

I then sent him another email asking how this could be I mean surely I am not delusional and know for a fact that I have used their services in the past. I left my phone # for him several times to call me but instead of calling me so we can work this out together, his second response which was rude:

I then sent him my Bank of America receipt of paying the $12.00 back in January 2011 and several transaction emails proof that I did in fact purchase stuff via astromart.com and have also been a good standing member. I had 48-49 5 star ratings!! All of my proof was ignored and he was completely rude to me.


Whoever responded back with the astromart@ymail.com was very rude to me and they were not friendly enough to assist me get back my account. At this point I'm not sure if my account got hacked, deleted but surely they were not willing to help me. In conclusion, I lost $12.00 for an account I paid for, he/she was very rude to me considering how good of a customer I have been. Buyer beware, they are VERY rude and your account may be lost later down the road without an explanation and also without them willing to help you out. 


Buyer please be aware!

Supporting AstroMart is a RipOff

If you do a google search, you will quickly find it confirmed that AstroMart is a "ripoff".  Accounts are often "mysteriously deleted" - this also happened to me.  I also received a very rude response to my email querries and ended up having to pay again.

Worst off, once you join, you are not treated as a "customer".  If you post, say, or do anything that they owner, Herb York, does not like, he will delete your information and possibly kick you off the site. These are not violations of TOS, but simply posting something he doesn't like or disagrees with.  

I personally tried selling something and had my ad deleted because he did not like that I gave people an option to see more pictures of my gear.

If you are paying for a service, you should follow a set of well established guidelines, not the whims of a lunatic!

You can find similar services for free and you will find that most people end up posting the same gear on other sites anyway due to the issues with AstroMart.  Posting an ad is archaic - only three pictures, and not a lot else to represent your product.
