I have lived in Decatur, Georgia since August, 2008 to February 20, 2009. I moved out of that place to my current address in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, I am living in the same place.

During my residence at the Decatur apartment, I used AT&T internet service. I do not recall the exact monthly fee of that service, but it must have been approximately 60 dollars. On February 20, 2009, I moved out of that place and decided to change my internet service provider to Comcast. Before moving out, I called AT&T and notified them of my intent to close my account. I spoke with a person on the phone and she confirmed my request.

Today, on August 31, 2009, I received a call from a debt collector, saying that I owe AT&T a debt of about $320. He has informed me that my AT&T account has been closed on July, 2009. I believe the $320 that AT&T alleges that I owe them comes from non-cancellation of my account and the bills accrued from February, 2009 to July, 2009 ($60 dollars a month * 5 months and several days).

I have documents to provide evidence that I moved out on February 20, 2009 and have been living in Atlanta since then. I also have documents to show that Comcast has been my internet service provider since February, 2009. I believe that AT&T has deliberately not cancelled my account and have been billed me for some time that I have not been using their service. AT&T has not contacted me once regarding this matter, and this is the first time I learned of this issue from the debt collector.

I ask for assistance from experienced lawyers and assure them that this is a bogus debt collection from AT&T. I also hope that a legal confrontation against AT&T will send them a message and stop this action that hurts customers' credit records.

I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Hyungi R
