At The Beach America At The Beach America Headbands Company Dishonest - Promises Payment Does Not Deliver and Refuses to Return Calls nj Internet

I am reluctant to write these reports on anyone, and I always give folks fair time to respond and make good on what it is they said they would do, but after over half a dozen phone calls and texts to the owners at this company, At The Beach America Headbands, I feel as though other potential employees should know my very negative experience.

I was scheduled a week in advance to work Saturday and to keep Sunday open in case they needed me.  Because the pay they "promised" was fairly good, I said that was fine.  I completed online training and kept in close correspondence with the two owners, a husband and wife, who informed me that they do not work with people who do not answer back nearly immediately. Also, that even if I was at work, I was to pick up the phone for them.  A bit unreasonable, and this should have been the first red flag right there! 

So Saturday came, as did numerous phone calls prior to 8am from the owner (I am not your employee on salary, please don't call me this early) but of course I obliged.  Around 9-930 I was told they were cancelling the show I was supposed to be at in 30 minutes, but needed me to go to the site and cancel with the director of the festival in person, which of course I went ahead and did.  They then said that they feel very badly, and understood I wasn't able to have other work scheduled (losing out on $150-300 in pay), and that I had trained and put quite a bit of time in to prepare for the event (trainings, several lengthy phone calls etc as well as going to speak with the festival director - several hours of my own time) so I would be paid half a day $75 for the inconvenience.  Although I was miffed that they would cancel so last minute, I thought well at least they are doing something for my trouble.

I sent them my address as asked, and was told I'd receive a check the following week.  Several hours later I received a text from the other owner, the wife of whom I'd been dealing with, who said well can you research festivals since we are paying you anyway.  I had no parameters of what to search, and I also let her know that I did not have a working computer as it was being prepared, so I did not think I was able to do this.  The library was closing within a half hour, and I wasnt going further out of my way to make other arrangements to do this.

So anyway, the next week rolled around, no communication no check no nothing.  I call the week later and text,  no response.  Do the same the following week, and the following, no answer!  So unprofessional and irresponsible of these two.  They preach absurd requests, such as pick up the phone while you were at work, even though you are not even on salary, yet they cant pay you as they say they will, and they keep you on hold for an entire weekend, and cancel the event, and your subsequent pay 30 minutes before the event is set to go off. 

These two owners are hypocrits and waste your time!  They search care.com to find employees which is just strange in on itself, and they are unethical. Do not work for them!  They take up hours of your time in pre legwork and unncessary phone calls, only to request you do work for them way outside the barrier of what you were hired to do, give you no parameters or make sure you have means to complete, make you go in person to cancel a festival, call you at 7am on a Saturday, and are completely disrespectful or your time!

Do not work these folks!
