I took my 07 Chev Suburban to have the oil changed. One week later, enginie came on; thought it was the gas cap so I went to part store to buy a new one. Had the sales person to hook it up to the diagnostic to verify the problem; diagnostic indicated a bad oil pressure guage sensor. He asked if I had the oil changed recently and that I needed to go back to that service to have to check to be sure the right filter was used based on the make model of vehicle. Went to a sister store near my home and they immediately took off the filter and put another one on and told me to back to the store near my job that changed the oil. Store 3341 denied that they used the wrong filter and it was a 'coincedence' that the sensor went out a week later. Had my personal mechanic check and he verified that the sensor was damaged due to the wrong filter used. Spoke other mechanics and they too indicated the same thing. Tried to work with district manage to get restitution to get the sensor replaced; he refused. He spoke to me a very demeaning manner. I plan to set up a social media page to find out if others had the same issues. I am planning to file a lawsuit for the damages and any loss of wages if I have to court for the case.

So

So you're problem is NOT with the fact that a week after you get a oil change your oil sensor goes out but with the fact that their DM didn't kiss your a**. There is the REAL issue here. Sorry to say this but it is coincidence that your oil sensor went out, and from your own rebuttal you even accept that it was more then likely the truth. So your issue is that the DM didn't just let you scam them. Or that the DM wouldn't give you a full refund for your supposed troubles. Eventually you do tell the truth.

Now we can narrow in on the truh. Truth is that you made assumptions. We understand your oil sensor went out. And it went out a week after a oil change. It would be natural to assume that the last people to work on it caused the issue. But as you have no direct knowledge of the internal combustion engine and no proof other then your assumptions when you called the DM you started making demands. This is a DM for a chain that has to hire mechanics and auto tech support personnel. Dont you think that the DM has some working knowledge that you do not posses?

So I'm betting that the DM told you the same thing. It's a coincidence sorry but nothing they could or would do. You didn't like that because you were still convinced they did it. This is the real problem. Not that they wouldn't give you a free oil sensor but because they just wouldn't give you ANYTHING!! Legally you are entitled to nothing. You were atleast fishing around for some free services or a refund. The DM is not going to just give you something for nothing. That is why they are DMs.you need to realize that the DM is there to combat consumer fraud as well as manage groups of stores. They handle hundred of customer complaints mainly around customers attempting to get something for free over a perceived issue. Be it just not getting their way or trying to scam them into fixing their vehicle.

That is what the DM saw when they took your call. Someone attempting to place the blame for their vehicular problem. So because the DM saw this for what it was and didn't budge you felt you would stand on some baseless principle and make trouble for the DM and that store. Let me educate you a bit. There is a procedure for any type of "free" repair. When one needs to be done, it's the store and employees who pay for it. The employees have to work for free, the parts come out of the store "profit" catagory and impacts the bonus employees get for doing a good job. So when you are attempting to scam a business it's NOT the corporate level that pays for it. It's the same employees who did the work and the same employees you blame for the issue and the same employees who you run Into around town. So if that DM did authorize a free repair or oil change its the employees who pay for it on every level. So not only do you besmirch the reputation of a business you also feel perfectly ok with robbing food out of the lowest employees.

Point is that principle is all well and good and all but it doesn't make you right. You felt you were right even though you were told it was almost impossible for a oil change to have caused your issue. You probably went to quite a few different mechanics until you found one or two that agreed with you. Still doesn't make it right. You're own attorney will tell you that your assumption is not FACT. Your hurt feelings only factor in if the business is in the wrong.  The facts of your issue do not prove any wrongdoing on the business. The ONLY thing they did "wrong" is not give you your way.

Sorry you have a car issue but its not their fault. And it's despicable of you to try and place the blame on them. All they did was their job and since the DM didn't give you anything you feel it's perfectly alright to slander them and try and tarnish a image they have worked very hard to build up. It's consumers like you that help to invalidate the customer service position and help to invalidates the complaint process. Consumers with a real comaint just get tossed aside and lumped in to your catagory.

I believe what you are saying and I know that it will my word versus thiers. However, I believe after researching this website that Jiffy Lube as a chain hires inadequate mechanics and when there is an issue, they do not admit their wrongdoings. If it were not for the condescending attitude of the district manager, I would have probably just accepted the situation as it was and had the repair done. But the last conversation I had with this guy was very patronizing and showed no signs of empathy. I don't believe that any time did I talk down to him or curse him or disrespected him.

Based on the advice of my attorney will determine the legal action but I do intend to voice my feelings about this establishment through the tools that available to me.

By definition if you seek to apply for damages you will need to prove that the wrong oil filter caused your sensor to go out. This is going to be IMPOSSIBLE and third party non involved parties cannot make a statement as fact. This means that unless you have the original manufacturer tear down your engine and PROVE that the damages were indeed caused by the wrong oil filter, its YOUR word against THEIRS. If they can show even one invoice or one piece of OFFICIAL paperwork stating they used the correct filter, then your case will be lost. Your PERSONAL MECHANIC doesnt get a say as if they were as good of a mechanic then THEY would have done your oil change. The ONLY infrormation YOUR mechanic can give is that they did not see the engine light when THEY worked on it. It is more then likely that it IS coincidence that your oil sensor went out. If as you suggest that they used the wrong filter on it, then the damages would have been appearant MUCH sooner then a week later. In fact the back preasure would have caused the sensor to fail WITHIN 48 hours. Some internet research on your own will show you that.
