Our recent Atlantis 20th Anniversary 10-Day Mediterranean Cruise aboard Celebritys Silhouette was a disappointment. The ship was lovely as you might imagine a new vessel would be. Food was mediocre, service was poor, shore excursions were suitable for only the most neophyte traveler, and up-charges were plentiful. Celebrity made it clear the only way you might feelspecial on their ship was to pay extra. Should there be a surcharge to feel special on vacation or should you reconsider the venue? Atlantis seemed to bring nothing to the party except a disco ball mentality and poor
organizational skills. Lucky for us we arrived well in advance and remained on holiday post disembarkation. To be sure the celebration was not shipboard but in the people, parties, and pleasures of the ports and cities long after it had
sailed.

Our advice, spend your money on a hotel or resort anywhere in the world you would like to enjoy. There are fascinating places and people everywhere and certainly plenty of locals rife with homosexuals. Dont be a sheep lead by someone waving a rainbow flag.  Extraordinary experiences shouldnt have to cost extra. If they will then do it with gusto! Spend a night in a medieval castle where a sound can conjure terror or glory.  Splurge on a real 4 or 5 star restaurant where you can not believe someone combined those elements to make something so delicious it is difficult to describe the way your mouth felt. Buy that Designer label on a street where the attitude is so thick it oozes. Hop a train to place Thomas Kincaid wished he painted. If you are seeking a party, events around the planet are now well advertised via the Internet. If you dont have to run back to your departing ship after only a few hours you might actually meet that incredible stranger.
