I was given a final notification for a North American Shoppers Sweepstakes held on March 5th 2008 I was a winner in the 2nd Category.

I was sent a check to help pay the taxes on the winnings and told I would receive a lump sum after I sent in the money for the taxes.

I made a few phone calls and finally went to my bank which in turn ran the checking account numbers for me and told me that the account was not legitimite, it was not a real account.

I asked them why I was being given this award, they told me it was becasue I had shopped at J.C. Penny or Home Depot in the last 6 months. How did they know that ?

If it had not been for the Bank Manager that I went in to talk to I could have very easily made a 4,875.00 dollar mistake and had a lot of trouble to boot.
