I bought a ticket for my daughter and myself to Jamaica, west indies. The ticket was for August of 2008. she was very ill at the the time from Neuroblastoma unfortunately she passed away April 9th 2008.


I received a letter from the Airlines stating that I should be refunded the money for her ticket by the travel service. also after their investigation they found out that the ticket was resold to at least one other passenger who was not my daughter.


I provided all the documents the travel service asked for, but to date have not received either the refund or a ticket in return. I spoke to and saw both the manager and the supervisor who sold me the tickets shortly after my daughters death, and was promised a refund.


Since then all my efforts to see or speak to both the manager or the person who sold me the tickets are in vain. I have been to their office on several accasions, and have tried to speak to them by phone. They always seem to be away from the office.


It was on one of my visits to their office I found out they were using the name of KenBar vacations along with Atlas vacations. I have since found out that the name change is due to several law suits against them for the same reason.


I have the original tickets that was issued by their office and the Airline, and the letter from Air Jamaica informing me about the refund and their findings. I asked for a ticket in exchange for the funds, but was refused by the trave agency.


The ticket was bought with cash, and  I was hoping they would show a little compassion for the death of my child. But it is unfortunate that not even the death of a child or anyone for that matter can move them to show some consideration for the pain and suffering of a grieving mother.


I hope that this medium will help other people from getting ripped off by KenBar, Atlas or whatever name they decided to go by when it suits them.


Thank you for providing this forum so I can express my pain and fustration with this company that is run by my fellow countrymen or women for that matter, who just happen to be Jamacians.
