My ATT bill for March 2012 included a random charge to a subscription service. the charge is $10.66 a month, every month, to a provider call myqube.com, company named mobile ecstasy, product was IDQuiz or some such nonsense. Myqube, nor mobile escstasy appear to have a searchable home page/company website on the internet. I am forced to assume myqube/mobile ecstasty do not want to be easily identified or contacted via the Internet. One can wonder why ....
I am very angry that ATT appears, from my perspective, to endorse or partner with a company that appears to me to use trickery, on its own customers. There is a cumbersome means via ATT to cancel said unauthorized subscription. Once you navigate the links, you can cancel or immediately stop the subscription. However, no refund option exists via the site. You will be billed a prorated amount. From my viewpoint, ATT allows very questionable
companies (myqube/mobile ecstasy) to use questionable practices to (from my experience) steal money from my family. I use the term streal because I was notified of this subscription after I was already billed. and then it was only viewable from the full pdf bill, not in summary of charges. I did not authorize this subscription explicitly.
it's not the amount of money, but the lack of principle, that burns me up. one of the wealthiest companies on the planet - and they're appear to endorse what I view as theft by their partners on their clients. i am livid and will certainly rethink our cell phone provider - cell phone needs.
I filed a complaint with FTC and my state's (ohio) attorney general's office via their websites.
