Hiring Paula Grohs was BY FAR the WORST professional (and legal) hire I have ever made. BIG regret and bad judgment on my part. To my credit, after interviewing several of her past clients, it has now come to my attention that Paula Grohs runs her "legal services" scam on any and all "vulnerable" parents who walk into her office. If you have been a victim of crime, including domestic violence, or your children abused, RUN DON'T WALK from this attorney. In the throes of your despair, she will tell you ANYTHING you want to hear (all lies and false promises) and fail to follow through on any of it. From what I've been informed of, Paula has forced women to sell their property and homes to pay her. Paula is a serious alcoholic and substance abuser who I believe was in rehab very recently and attempted to close her practice, but upon finding out she might not get insurance to cover her "leave of absence" Grohs began filing lawsuits against as many people as possible in order to cover the costs of both her alcohol problem and her attempts at making rehab work.
It also appears that Paula happens to be a terrible trial attorney and her argumentation skills are non-existant, but you won't hear that from her, only from the scarred litigants whose cases she has thrown by embarrassing both herself and her clients in front of a multitude of judges. The family law judge who my case was seen before actually ADMONISHED Paula for failing to provide any substantive argument and for Paula's failure to refer to filed informtion, which Paula seemed to have zero knowledge of.
Either Paula was totally unprepared for the trial and had not thoroughly read the case documents, or she was totally wasted, because I can't find another explanation for a quasi "smart" women masquerading as a total bimbo (and Paula's acting is very bad, I must add).
Watching Paula lie and twist every fact is painful. Paula is part of the family law corruption in Contra Costa County. Paula got so desperate for cases that she started offering to go into a specific department that no other attorneys would accept cases in. Several clients dropped Paula recently after discovering that Paula would eventually hose their cases (even more than she had, AND overbill them, more than she had) and probably work with the other side, which she is known to do.
Paula broke attorney-client privilege in my case, which is a HUGE State Bar Rules of Professional Conduct violation. She contacted opposing side on at least 1 or more occasions and documents Paula filed with the court confirmed this. She also teams up with a really awkward civil attorney named William A. Hickey who is also a jacka*s and totally unprofessional. She has a "ring" of racketeers which I believe also includes Neoma K. Gottlieb of Watchful Eye Supervision, however, several litigants caught onto this and decided to fire both Paula and Neoma. Yes, if you end up with both of these "professionals" do not be duped -- they are a duo and collude to dupe parents such as yourself.
And watch out world, because Paula is opening a new business, and if I had to guess, because she can't brand a business to save her life, it will probably be named something like "NotaryWorx." Maybe it will be accompanied by another logo that looks like it was drawn by a 10 year old taking beginning lessons in CorelDraw. I wonder if she's paying big bucks for the clipart business logos, or if they're crowdsourced for pennies on the dollar from overseas.
DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACT OR BILLING AGREEMENT WITH HER. She will use any and every legal loophole, despite ANY verbal promises she makes to you, to exploit you, even after PROMISING you up and down she is on your side. She is not - she only cares about herself and booze. If you like your life, your kids, your family and your friends, DO NOT EVER GET INVOLVED WITH THIS WOMAN IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. It will place an extreme and irreparable burden on you financially, psychologically, emotionally, and strain your health, your finances and your relationships.

Attorney Paula Grohs Is Out for Herself

I'm familar with the divorce lawyer community in Contra Costa County, and the family court. The entire system is corrupt and biased against people who can't afford a lawyer and are forced to represent themselves in court. Paula Grohs is a bottom-feeder divorce attorney who churns legal fees by dragging out cases instead of resolving them. She is dishonest, and has very serious problems with alcohol abuse. She has at least four alcohol-related offenses on her record. Her latest drunk arrest paperwork is at this link:

Paula Grohs was attorney for father of our son who was continuously abused by his father mostly mentally! After our son was taken by the corrupt CPS bc we had been in custody court for 12 years Ms. Paula Grohs sent me an email that said in subject: Isn’t it Great! You are now beginning to reap what you have sown! Isn’t it great! If you want an attorney that is heartless and doesn’t give a crap about children than she is the perfect fit for you!!

Paula said a lawsuit was filed:
"....based on belief there was a conspiracy network with individuals colluding to deprive her of her parental rights. Those sued in CA Northern District Case No. 4:17-cv-06967 include."
The complaint does not state that; that's Paula's twisted interpretation of the facts, or a clear example of the fact that she doesn't read anything.
Paula Grohs tarnished her own name - nobody had to do it for her.

I simply ask readers of this report to please not judge a book by its cover.
This "Ripoff Report" of October 2017 was authored by Kristina Marie Karkanen.
Ms Karkanen, last I knew, believed me and several others conspired and colluded against her in her Contra Costa County action (Case #D08-04097). The pleadings filed by Ms. Karkanen in D08-04097 are public record available for review at Martinez Records Unit located at 1111 Ward Street in Martinez, CA. A quick read of the file will explain matters.
See also Northern District Case No. 4:17-cv-06967 filed on December; 6, 2017 by Ms. Karkanen, against myself and several others based on belief there was a conspiracy network with individuals colluding to deprive her of her parental rights. Those sued in CA Northern District Case No. 4:17-cv-06967 include:

The dispute with Kristie Karkanen was an attorney fee dsipute. Trial was in September 2017 (See Contra Costa Case #MLS16-02322). Kristie is simply lashing out at me out of vindictiveness making false allegations of drukeness and control substance abuse in an attempt to tarnish my reputation.
As stated in above, please do not judge this book by its cover; rather read the pleadings and judge for yourself.
