atty. michael norris mislead to obtain full up-front fees redondo beach, California

I hired mr.norris to represent me in a criminal matter. I was arrested for petty theft w/a prior. my reason for using mr.norris was the fact that he said he could get me out of jail. he guarenteed this to us prior to us obtaining his services. I had used mr.norris in a previous criminal matter and using that experience to guide me I had good feelings about using him again. boy was I wrong. I don't know what happened to mr. norris but he did'nt do one thing he said he could do. he would'nt even except my calls from L.A. county jail. of course he blamed that on the phone system within the jail. his ph. # is purposely blocked as to not accept collect calls. on one occasion he told me he would have the block lifted. never happened. now remember I paid mr.norris $9500.00 up front. this is the fee he needed and was paid in full before he made one court appearance. needless to say I stayed incarcerated in the co. jail all the way up to being sent off to state prison. I did a total in custody time of 13 mos.. this includes state prison. as time dragged on I could see my chance of release as mr.norris had promised slipping away. it was during these times that mr.norris would try to re-gain my confidence by saying "no state prison" or "get probation re-instated". he never made one visit to county jail to discuss my case. in fact the only time I could talk to him were my brief court appearances. when I say brief I mean like 5 min.. the longest time I spent in court was the day I was sentenced. I had to wave my pre-sentencing in custody credits. mr.norris told me I had to do this. although I asked why I was never given a reason. upon leaving the court room mr.norris said not to worry about the credits. he would get them re-instated. as a matter of fact I wrote mr.norris from prison asking about this. he wrote back stating he saw no reason to take me back to court to get this done for me. I have this in writing. to sum this letter up I believe mr.norris told us what we wanted to hear to get his money. the one and only reason he was hired was because he said he could get me out of jail. a few years ago I would have reccommended mr.norris to someone needing a criminal lawyer. today I would warn anybody against using mr.norris.
