Auctions For Income, PMI, and StoresOnline Deceptive! Dishonest! Poor coaching! Hidden costs! What a joke! Rip-off! Orem Utah
*Consumer Suggestion: Similar Indeed !!! AFI, PMI & StoresOnline vs. AFI, PMI & IDI
After ordering Dave Espino's Aution for Income, I discovered the material to be woefully inadequate. Included in the material you are encouraged to call a phone number and join the "Success Team". These people are PMI (Profession Marketing Institute). They promise you the world in sales with your own website and their own professional coaching. I gullibly fell for their pitch to the tune of $6,044.00. You will get 10 sessions of 30 minutes of coaching for $300.00 an hour and a store building packet from StoresOnline. There is a 3 day refund policy to review well over 200 pages of questionable material. It was bad enough that all this came at a grossly inflated price, what was even worse was that even though I interviewed with a pitchman named Brandon Lee for well over an hour, he failed to reveal all costs. Buried in all that material, I later found a document notifying me that "The yearly maintenance for said Storefront is $2,500.00 per year..." At this point my outrage was complete. I was already feeling taken in my gut, but this was too much. Half way through the coaching sessions as I am today, I am none the wiser. My last coaching session consisted of being walked through the process of listing an item on Ebay! $300.00 per hour for information which is free on the Ebay site. Unbelievable and unacceptable. I am glad they did not reveal that pesty little "maintenance fee". It will be the angle with which I can use to show their deception. On this day, July 15, 2004, this is what I have done. I called my credit card companies and filed disputed claims reports. Discover card made it very easy-no paperwork. VISA is making it a little tougher. I must file a written explanation and provide my story. I also reported the cards lost in order to get new card numbers. This I was told was prudent because in the case of VISA anyway, if I was further defrauded in the future by them, VISA wouldn't help me. So this cost me $10 per VISA card. Discover did this for free. Lastly, I filed a consumer protection report with my state's attorney general's office and this guy is a bulldog. I believe that I WILL get my money back, in time. I also send a firm email to PMI and politely demanded my money back and notified them of my actions. I will report back on this board as the situation progresses. My advice to anyone thinking getting involved is simply this - DON'T. I would just like to say a bit more...while I was writting this, I got called by a young man with Auctions For Income trying to involve me in their own mentoring program(?). I told him my experience and he disavowed any knowledge of PMI. But I informed him that his own company had involved me with them and even read to him right off of their own material. He was incredulous and I urged him to let me talk to someone higher up. He would not. But said he could give my number to his director and he would call me. I said yes, yes and urged him to do so. That call never came....All very strange, indeed. Then my coach called she said she had never heard of the $2,500.00 maintenance fee, maybe it was something new, and that I should talk to customer service. I declined saying I was no longer interested in doing business with PMI anymore. This ends my story for now. As I've said, I will follow-up this message in the future Tom Vadnais Heights, Minnesota
