On September 20, 2011, I purchased a used 2005 Audi A6 from Audi of Las Vegas VIN# WAUDG74F95N075095 .  While test driving the car, I asked the salesman about the vehicle history and he mentioned that this was the second time the vehicle had been on their lot as the previous owner had purchased it used from them before recently trading it in.  He mentioned that the vehicle had one pervious minor accident and assured me that the dealership does not sell vehicles that have had extensive damage such as salvaged vehicles or vehicles with frame/unibody damage.  I like the vehicle and decided to take possession of it for about $20,000.

On July 20, 2013, I took the vehicle to Carmax in order to possibly sell/trade-in for something newer.  Carmax offered me $6000 for the vehicle because apparently the vehicle had unibody/frame damage which means they cannot sell it on their lot and would go straight to an auction yard.  They gave me the Autocheck report which clearly stated the damage.
That same day, I contacted Audi of Las Vegas and spoke to a salesman named Gareth.  I explained the situation to him and he said he would talk to his manager and give me a call.  While waiting, I contacted a few other dealerships in the area and asked if they sold cars with frame damage.  They all told me that they do not place those vehicles on their lots and they send those to auction as the safety of the vehicle is now compromised.
When Gareth called me back a few hours later, he told me that there was no way that the vehicle would have had frame damage when it was at their dealership because they inspect every vehicle and they cannot sell cars on their lot with frame damage.  I explained to him that the report showed that the frame damage existed a couple of years prior to me purchasing it.  He asked me to send him the report and would get back to me a few days later once he got the report to the manger.  He even asked me what I wanted for the car as if trying to put this behind them and I told him I wanted $10,000 which is lower than KBB fair condition trade-in value.

After a week or so of no call back, I contacted Gareth again who mentioned that he wasn't sure if the manager looked at the report as apparently he had quit a few days after originally talked to him.  He pretty much tried to blow me off and told me that it had already been too long and that I would have no recourse in the matter.  He said he would give the message to whomever was in charge at that point for a call back and I've never heard back from them since.

I urge anyone in Las Vegas to not purchase vehicles from this dealership.  I have had two friends purchase vehicles from there and they seem to have had several issues with the vehicles they've purchased.  One involving deployed airbags in an accident, which more than likely should've not been sold on their lot either.  Their disregard for what's ending up costing me a significant amount of money just showed the lack of integrity this "premier" dealership has.  The current trade-in value of the vehicle is $11,753 in fair condition via KBB.  The offer I am receiving for the vehicle due to its tainted vehicle history is $6000.  I am out about over $5,700 at this point due to their unscrupulous business practices.

Don't think that I am defending this dealer..just going to give you a bit of a different perspective.

First off during this entire 2 years you had the vehicle you probably had it serviced a few times.  If this damage was obvious how come no one mentioned it to you before?  Is the damage really that obvious?  It doesn't even appear that CarMax inspected it beyond looking at the report.   When you originally bought the car in 2011, the "Car Report" was really just starting to "kick in".  So not many dealers even ran those reports.

You also have to remember that the salesman did make you aware it has been in a minor accident.  At that point did you have it inspected by an Independent Mechanic?  Not only for any possible damage but for anything else the dealer may not have told you?   But if this damage wasn't major(yes that is a subjective term) even if this dealer inspected the car they might have missed it.

As for a few other items..

If you read reports on where you took the car there are many complaints about them "undervaluing" cars.  Don't know how true they are based on what people are saying but that might be something you want to also think about.  But you may want to take it around to a couple other dealers to see what they say.

Also, when you called around to other dealers what did you really expect them to say?  Did you expect them to tell you "Yep..we sell frame damaged cars every day and have no problem doing it?".    I just say that because it just makes it seem as if you are trying to create an issue where none exists.
