Two guys in a white van pulled up to me waving their arms trying to get me to pull over. They approached the truck and stated they had a great deal in surround sound for me. They said they had an overage on speakers and that they would be willing to sell them cheap otherwise their bosss was just going to keep them.
They showed a bill of more than 1,000.00 for them and said they would part for them for some hotel money and drinking money...We negotiated a price of 200.00. I told some firends what had just happened and they alerted me to the scam that has been taking place with these speakers. They are Audiofile speakers #830LR ... Beware they are a ripoff dont buy them... As a matter of fact if they approach you, beat them for me...

The Speakers Work

Me and my roomate were put into the same situation. These two guys in a black ford explorer pulled into a gas station parking lot as we were leaving, they flagged us down and we started to talk with them. Eventually we bought the speakers for three hundered dollars. The two guys came over to our apartment and hooked them up for us and everything.
We decided that these two looked like some shady characters so as my roomate was in the living room with the guys hooking them up I decided to grap the shotgun from the bedroom, I stood in the hallway listening to them, I just wanted to make sure they didn't try to rob us. Eventually they were on there way and we were stoked on the speakers. The speakers work good actually, they are loud enough to get us kicked out of our apartment.
The next day I talked to one of my friends in Denver, CO. He bought the same exact speakers, just different color, from two different guys. His speakers work good too. So, I know it is a scam but the speakers ended up working good, so we are not mad.

today my room mate fell for the swindle of two guys in a van selling a 2 grand stereo system that was willing to let it go for 3 hundred dollars. I came home from work and he showed me his new stereo he got for a great price, after we looked at it we got online to check other products from this name brand AUDIOFILE from my search I found this web site and read reports on the rip off. The other posts warning of this scam were exactly the same as what happened to him. They needed money for a hotel blah blah blah over stalked needed to sell them. After I read this we decided to look for them seeing how it had only been an hour since the purchase. I found them on a road headed twords the freeway and followed them onto it. I called local police who would not help us, so we attemped to stop them but the refused to pull over and laughed at us. After that my friend called state patrol... they were more than happy to help a soldier. Within a hour they pulled them over and had us pull over with them. We talked face to face with the salesmen who seemed quite concerned in there situation. State troopers got them on sales without a license and broken tail light. The Officer who was more than helpfull checked there so called work numbers for there lagitament company and found them false. They had to let them go but they will have to go to state patrol thursday for proof of business or warrants will be served. The Officer promised us he would check into this more deeply after we told him about this web site and the national scam he was very destrought that these men attempted to rip of a soldier in uniform. Nothing was better than seeing those guys faces when we drove off and they were still talking to the police. If you want I just happened to have my digital camera in my car at the time I got pictures of the van license plate and video of the state troopers with them after they pulled them over.
