Audit Market ripoff Riga Latvia

I received an email, with a career builder heading. I went on and replied to the email for extra income, but I tried to investigate, since the website they provided me has some Federal Tax ID, I tried to confirm the company's legal existence, I called the IRS (they said I am not authorized to access any info), I filed a report with the fraudbureau, even to career builder. But up until now not even 1 of them have a reply yet.

So when I received the checks I deposited them and waited for any replies to my inquiry, 1-day the check was cleared, I still waited, but 1 week after, the checks were reversed from my account. Good thing I didnt cash the check, but the bad side, I the bank charged me with $100 check reverse fee and also I have a fraud record with my bank.

To think that I tried to call my bank, the career builder, IRS, Fraud Bureau for information on this company and the check, but they were not helpfull.

So what would prevent any person from distinguishing if this company is legal or not, since even the IRS is not giving any information. By the time they respond to any inquires of my email, the damage has been done.
