I was hired by the above named company as a "general manager". I was promised a certain salary with benefits. Once I received my first pay check it was far less then what I was promised. I had to have an uncomfortable conversation with my new boss. He said to me "your here now what are you going to do" Once I questioned his integrity he told me he would have it fixed. When I got my next pay check it still was not fixed. He gave me an amount that he and his wife thought I was worth instead. Not knowing what else to do because I had bills I continued to work. I told my story to friends and family while still with the company. I also found out this happened to 2 other people while I was working for the company. Once I realized I had the love and support of my family I quit the job. I lost a great deal by leaving another company I worked for to take this job. I hope that this does not happen again to another person. This is why I am making this story known as many ways as I can. The scam is this.
Augustine Lett hires a person as a "General Manager" or "Executive Chef" for a certain amount of money. Once the person is there 'often times coming from another state" or like me leaving another job. He will then pay less money then promised. The way he will justify less money is by saying "the company can not afford to pay you" The way he will rationalize it in his own mind is that the person is Incompetent and can't handle the job. This thought process of being incompetent is backed up by his wife and daughter. So because the hired person does not have another job they stay and work as long as they can stand it. I lasted 10 weeks. The "general manager" before me lasted about the same. And the "executive chef" lasted 3 months until he got fired because Augustine found out he was looking for another job. All of us mentioned has family's.
