Upon gettin this SUVat drive today USA in Birmingham Alabama I have had nothing but trouble with this car. the windshield wipers did not work, the front end alignment kept me buying new tire, exhaust pipe leaked and I did not have any brakes because the master cylinder was gone. to make a long story short I could not continue to pay for this vehicle each month because of maintenance on this vehicle that I had to fix. and when I would call them about my payment, I will let them know that most of the money would go on repairing the vehicle, which put me behind in the payments and they would not work with me on the payments, and came and repo the vehicle. I was treated so badly and so rude and they overprice me on the finance charges. I have lost my job due to them coming getting the vehicle, with all the money that I put in repairing the vehicle. I am so upset right now all I could do was cry... All my money gone into a truck I no longer have...

Repairs have nothing to do with the loan

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 15, 2017

You are completely clueless about vehicles. Do not buy another one until you research and understand what you are signing.

The condition of the vehicle is your responsibility after you buy it.  Used vehicles are sold AS IS (normally) unless you buy a warranty.  Don't buy any warranty without reading it completely to see what it covers and, more importantly, what is excluded.  Some warranties may be worth the money, but in my experience, I find most of them are too expensive and completely worthless. It is far better to stick the money in a savings account to use for future maintenance and repairs. One thing to learn:  all vehicles need to be maintained. If you don't take care of them, then your repair bill will be much larger.

As to the money you borrow to buy the vehicle:  It has nothing to do with repairs and maintenance. That money is to be repaid to the lender regardless of the condition of the vehicle. If the vehicle is repossessed, then you will owe the deficiency to the lender - even if you don't have possession of the vehicle. How do you confuse maintenance with repayment of your loan?

Do your research. Learn before you sign your name. Car dealers take advantage of everyone they can. If you educate yourself, you can stop being taken advantage of when you buy a vehicle.
