After searching online for a seller of auto accessories I settled on  autoEQ.ca to purchase side window vents for my 2013 Caravan.

Before purchasing I did a google search for reviews,scams,etc..I could find nothing to indicate that this seller was not reliable. So using my Visa I spent 112.00

I purchased a name brand part from  autoEQ.ca  the deflectors is made by "weathertech" it does have a 3 year warranty,and is warranteed against defects and they do have a Geat name in the auto accessory industry.....

It is the company that sold it to me thats at issue here.  The parts did arrive quickly, but what I got was defective.

during install the part shattered in 2 seperate places...fair enough..sometimes stuff happens. I immediatley contacted weathertech whom in turn told me to just contact the merchant who sold to me and I would be taken care of...This is when the games began...

I sent autoEq.ca an email to their advertised "24/7 customer service" address....then again the next day...then the 3d day..no response! I found a phone# for them via yellow pages, I called and got a voice mail. I left a detailed,polite message...no response...I waited a day and left another message, again no answer...

So then I got creative!  Posing as a customer I emailed them from a different email, using a different name...what do you know!!! I received a reply within 45 minutes!! So I emailed them again using this fake name, asking some silly question about a part, just to see if Id get another reply...again I got a response within 1 hour!

So I sent an email telling them who I was, and asking for some help with the defective part they sold me...all contact stopped.

I want the world to now that these guys are scammers who only want your money...In hind site I see that there is NO phone number on their very professional looking webpage and that to me is now a huge warning sign...Hindsite is 20/20

I guess Ill go thru my credit card company to get satisfaction...In the meantime I want to post everywhere that I can, warning all to stay away from autoEQ.ca

I bought something from this website too, and my experiences were not bad at all. I was looking for a seat cover for my new honda CRV, I browsed a few websites, then I decided to order from autoeq because their website looks professional and it is user friendly. I emailed them for the seat cover that I want, but they don't have the color that I like. I was a bit disappointed. Then they were able to help me find it within 3 days. Their sales representative was not bad, the guy sounded nice over the phone. And I have to compliment that their seat cover perfectly fits my car. And I recently received a promo code from them, I am thinking to get weather tech floor liner and cargo liner for my new car as well. What can I expect more!!??

Aprox. 4 days after filing my original report, a representative of this company sent me an email apologising for the lengthy delay...further stating that they were experiencing a shortage in customer service personel, and thats why the long delay in getting back to me, but if I would send in some pics of the defect and a pic of the part # so they could determine if the correct piece was sent, then they woulod proceed.  I sent in the photos immediatley.

 Another week passes...No response...So I send 1 more email wherein I say its getting to the point where I have to contact the BBB & Visa.   That gets a response...Now they respond with they are waiting for the maker of the part to decide on if they will honor the warranty, and that this could take some time......

Now Im thinking that this is just a stall tactic...so I called Weathertech (the manufacturers of the part) they tell me in a case like mine,where the part is clearly defective, a replacement is always sent out within a couple of days..

So I wait a few more days and still nothing from autoEQ, so I contacted Visa, started a claim then emailed autoEQ one last time saying I have contacted visa.

That same day they emailed stating they are very sorry, they understand my position and frustration as a consumer and have decided to send a replacement and wait on their end for weathertech to replace the part in question....

So it looks as though I may be getting good service after all....I will let you all know if and when the part shows up.

Maybe this seller was just experiencing growing pains...But in todays online marketplace, rife wiith scams and scammers one cant be to careful....unfortunatley the media and circumstances have made most of us skeptics...I wish all the best to this seller!!
