I found a car on the internet and contacted them expressing my interest to purchase the vehicle.  We set a deal, they faxed me the sale certificate to sign.  At the same time I put down a 5k deposit using my bank card.  I faxed the sales certificate back signed as well as the receipt for the deposit.  They indicated that I could wire the remaining balance the following day and then the car would be sent to me and would arrive within 5-7 days as I live about 1000 miles away.  That was over two weeks ago.  They now have my deposit and will not return my calls.  I have requested via email fax and phone that they refund my debit card and provide proof of so and they will not reply in any way shape or form.

A GREAT Lesson!!!

Do not ever, ever, ever again attempt to buy a used car, sight unseen on the internet.  EVER!  Contact your local court clerk and see what can be done about a small claims suit.  Contact your bank and see if you can have that charge reversed.

Buying a used car sight unseen on the internet has its guarantees:

1.  You are guaranteed to not know who or what you are dealing with.

2.  You are guaranteed to not know what the condition of this never seen car is.

3.  You are guaranteed to not know the value of the car because you've never seen it.  And if you've never seen it, how do you know how much it is really worth?

4.  You are guaranteed to not have your mechanic check it over BEFORE you buy it.

There are many more reasons.  But remember, con artists are just waiting for some sucker with zero common sense to come along.  Don't ever be one of them!
