Autosave Warranty (Charter Warranty) Dell Financial/Charter Warranty LIARS WHO PASS THE BUCK Farmington Hills, Michigan

We purchased  1997 Dodge Caravan with 86K miles on it.  We carefully looked over the warranty that was offered (Autosave) and figured we would be covered as long as we did our share with routine maintenance.

At 99K miles the transmission exploded and took out the lower gears.  We had it towed to local garage who didn't want to even touch it because of who the warranty company was (should've been my first clue to the trouble brewing ahead).  Had it towed to a transmission shop who diagnosed the problem and gave an estimate of approx $1800 to rebuild a new tranny. They then called to have an adjuster come out.  The adjuster looked at it briefly and decided to "total" the car!

Now my warranty plainly states that they will pay up to $2000 toward a transmission repair/rebuild and $3000 for engine repair/rebuild.  Heellooo!  Our quote was for 1800 so should have been no problem.  What they decided to do when they totalled it was say they would pay for 80% of the value which they declared to be $1125 (Kelly Blue Book says $4600!!).  They agreed to send us $840. 

They faxed me necessary paperwork to file and return which I did. They confirmed it was received, processed and payment would be sent out next day.  Well that was 9/22/09 and here it is 10/14/09 and we are still waiting.  I have called Andrew who processed the claim who in turn passed the buck to Bob Adams who is in charge of sending payments out.  Conveniently Mr. Adams has never been available to speak to me when I call each and every single day, nor does he have the courtesty to return my phone calls to let me know what the heck is going on. 

Yesterday I finally left him a message stating if I didn't hear back from him in 24 hours I was filing a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner for State of CT.  I fully intend to follow thru with that.

I have been without a vehicle for 7 weeks.  I am 9 months pregnant, the hospital is over an hour away and I still have no way to get there should I go into labor before getting my van back.  I have my portion of the repair bill but am not in a position to pay Autosave's part as well.

I would never - I repeat NEVER recommend to anyone to use Autosave.  I have never been so thoroughly disgusted with a company or its employees.  I'm surprised they are allowed to continue in business - they are nothing but liars and thieves who have no respect for the hardworking individuals who trusted their product
