AutoTronix and Boww Down Auto Sound Ripoff SCAM ARTISTS Garden Grove California

First off AutoTronix are a bunch of scam artists. My situation happened in 2002.

I was doing some shopping for my car (car audio) and so I went Autotronix because they had some good ideas. As I walked into the store, it was smelly, and very very unprofessional. I talked to a guy there, looked like a teenager. He was very honest and everything, he seemed very cool.

The next guy that I talked to had a shaved head, his name was Angel, and he had glasses. He spoke Arabic, Spanish, and English. He is full of crap. He told me to go with Visnoiks because they are German and everything. He would not let me leave without buying anything from that store.

Another person by the name of Malik, he normally wears a red Angel Beanie, came in and he recommended what kind of unit and everything I should setup. I listened to them, and I was not interested. He told that that the entire setup originally cost $7000, and I knew that they were full of it, because I know that most stereo systems do not cost that much, especially if they are no namers, and they made it seem like they were the best. I knew they were not.

So what he did was knock the price from $7000 to $2500. I still wasn't buying it. All I wanted to do was shop around and see whats good. they wouldnt let me. So I ended up financing the POS system for 1 year. they said that I can keep on paying the minimum payments, and that there would be no interest for the first year. They lied again. the interest tacked on after 2 months, and it was a lot, like 30-40 dollars.

I went back and complained to them about it, and they said to call the bank. They completely gave me the Run Around. I didn't like it. So, I called up the bank, and I told them my situation, and they said that it is their responsibility to set when the interest gets added on. I got into an argument with them. So what I did was that I called my CC company, and I told them to consider it a fradulent order, and they charged it back, and cancelled my order.

So, since I got it for free (without them knowing) I went ahead and got it installed. They said that it would approx take 6 hours. It ended up being 8 hours, and their installers were lazy people, with no certification. The waiting room was small, hot, beaten up, and the furniture was a pile of crap. While I was waiting there, there were 2 other people waiting, one to get an amp installed, and the other called in with an appt to get an alarm into his car. they were there as long as I was, and they still were not finished.

During the install, they said that the speakers that I bought did not fit into my car, and I said "well you guys are 'supposed to be the audio experts' you guys could have told me that they wouldnt find and that I wouldnt buy them." they didnt say anything for that. They said that can put my stock speakers back into my car for $80 a speaker times 4 equals $320. I said, well if you actually sit down for a second or two, its the same amount of work, why cant you guys just put it back in. they said that the installers get paid based upon how much the customer spends, and that it is a separate thing that they do. I said that this company is full of crap, and I told them not to touch the speakers.

I left the store with my speakers not installed, and I had a friend put them back in for me in 15 minutes. I left that store all pissed off, and I remember all of their faces.

So, take my advice, do not, I repeat, DO NOT go to that place, they also talk about you in Arabic, and that is why they always laugh and giggle while looking at you, coz they are making fun of you.

Also, do not go to Boww Down Auto Sound, its the same people running the store that came from Autotronix. Autotronix has a new owner, and he is just like the rest. Autotronix messed up on an 03 Explorer, and messed up the electronics, and it was no longer driveable. so they were forced to pay the $30,000 dollars back to the owner or else they would be shut down. Instead what they did was open up a smaller, dirty, smelly store in Costa Mesa, called Boww Down Auto Sound.

I just went there, and they lied to me. they said that an Alpine Head Unit was $77 on the penny saver. I went into that store and they said that it was going to be $249 because of the install. Nowhere on the ad did it say that there would be an additional charge to it for installation. I asked them if they could just sell it to me, they said no, because they would be losing money on the product itself. And so I told them, well if you are saying that "you are losing money" then why advertise for $77 and then when they come in you say $249, false advertisement and misleading information. The model alpine that they had advertised was a 2001 Alpine model, and it shows the same one in the ad. Do not, go doing business with these people.
