Breeder Kim Chapman has $3500 of my money, she sold me two POL's females. One litter born in July 2011 and another in Sept. 2011, to date she still has my money refuses a refund and I still have no puppies. I do have all the excuses you can imagine from her, everything from the dog was shot two weeks prior to delivery(allegedly shot in Sept. when the litter was born in July) to the dog killed all 11 pups and buried them (however she told me there were only 6 and showed pics on Facebook and they are registerd with AKC). She has not offered me any other litter pics until I threatened to sue her in court. I believe she is double selling POL's and possible triple selling the litters, she is taking money and not deliverying puppies.

Facts Be Known

AUTHOR: slea_ski - ()

POSTED: Sunday, October 27, 2013

I've sat back and quietly watched and noticed that no mention has been made that the Courts have ordered Avalanche to abide by the contract set forth. All this hoopla is nothing more than a cover for the fact that the original contract was not abided by. Money was paid and no puppies were delivered. I have attempted to handle this in a professional manner and I have recieved one pup and have yet to recieve one more to complete the original contract.

Hundreds of people can write in their opinions and experiences, it doesn't change what was and what still is yet to be nor what the Courts have ordered to be done. Kim knows the final judgement as well as I do and to let this type of hype continue after what she professed to be good faith to professionally finish the contract is a sad commentary. So be it,,, again, facts are facts and the Courts have handed down the judgement. I have yet to recieve one more puppy at my choosing and then the contract is finished.

Happy Kennel and Customer

AUTHOR: Alyssa_e - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 25, 2013

I find this an absolutely horrendous accusation presented against Avalanche Cane Corso and the Chapmen family. Breeding dogs and making baked goods are two different things. The expectations that customers have now a days is that puppies will be received over night and they will have exactly what they want in that dog from day one.

This customer’s accusations are ridiculous, who pays $3,500 for two pick of litter puppies? Also if you are buying a pick of litter puppy from Avalanche Cane Corso you have got to purchase that puppy long before the litter hits the ground or the parents breed. Even then with the expectations this woman was placing on a dog you would be able to see that not every litter Avalanche throws would be a match for her expectations.

The Chapmen family throw amazing animals, I have one as of right now and already have my money in for another. My female is now 3 years old and a wonderful dog and mother. Not one has she had her own litter but tried to nurse 17 babies all by herself, she has taken on a litter of kitten’s that were saved from the big flood in colorado, and is a joy to take anywhere.

She epitomizes what a corso she be and I didn’t get her over night. I waited for 10 mo to get my amazing girl in my home. Kim did not want me to settle for a puppy but instead she wanted me to get a dog that would fit into my pack and exceed my expectations for a corso. Avalanche Cane Corso is the only kennel I recommend to my puppy customers and customers I come across.

Being a hobby breeder I rarely have a litter on the ground and can not always meet everyone’s expectations for a puppy. All of the accusations taken against this family by this woman are ridiculous, I truly hope that no one is ignorant enough to listen to this misguided woman’s lies and loose out on owning a wonderful new family member.

Avalanche Kennels is Top Notch!

AUTHOR: Tamara - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 18, 2013

I found it quite shocking to hear of Avalanche Kennels being on the BBB!

I"ve personally have purchased 5 Cane Corsos from them over the past years.  They ranged from 9 weeks to 5 years in age, and all of them are amazing.  The care and love those dogs had received was very evident.  While visiting their kennel I was impressed with how well I was received by their dogs, and how clean everything was.

Any questions and advice needed were, and are answered quickly.

Kim and Lee are more like family, doing all they can to make sure I succeed!!

We got our first Cane Corso from Avalanche. Snoop is out of Quirkee and  Arturo.  He was very stubborn as a puppy. He would take our things and run.  If there was a shoe left out and he found it, it became a chew toy.I called Lee and after a few sessions on the phone, we had a great puppy!! He has grown into a fine dog. Loves his family!!

We have since gotten a blue female out of Giacomo. She has been a doll. No complaints! We have had nothing but good experiences with Avalanche and have referred many people to them over the years.

Avalanche did me right!

AUTHOR: Alise - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, October 15, 2013

I have a fawn male out of Bonz x Quest. Hes the sweetest dog in the World and my husband and I adore him. He sleeps with us at night alone with my lil dog Bella. Winston and Bella are bestest friends and people laugh when they see the two of them together. Bella weighs 3 pds & Winston weighs 85 right now. Of course Bella is the boss!! I'm sure many of you have seen their pics on Avalanches fb page. Winston is crate trained, house broken, on and off leash trained and obedience trained.

Winston loves people, especially Children. I have three nephews and he loves nothing more than to be in the middle of them playing. He does well with our neighbors dog and my in-laws cat. He is a good natured dog with a loving heart. I don't think hes ever met a stranger, hes just a happy dog that loves life.

Thank you Avalanche for such a sweet loving boy! He is everything you promised he would be!

Avalanche, way more than just a business!!!

AUTHOR: Jessica - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, October 15, 2013

I must say it is hard to believe that anyone could have such harsh things to say about Avalanche. I have purbchased 3 dogs from Avalanche and have never had a problem with them! Not only that, I received lots of advice from Kim before even purchasing my first corso to ensure we were making the right decision for our family.

The relationship that my family has with both Kim and Lee goes far beyond words could ever explain. All the questions and advice at all times of day and night had to be annoying, but they were always there.

I have 3 of the most awesome dogs and i'm pleased to say as of last year decided to build my own kennel under Avalanche. I could only hope to be as successful and knowledgeable as both Kim and Lee. They are not just awesome breeders but great people and friends as well! I would advise anyone to visit their kennel to see how great their dogs are and they have a beautiful setup on their property too!

I love my dog

AUTHOR: Garen - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, October 15, 2013

I have 2 dogs from Avalanche. Our female Lulu was born and raised with Lee and Kim. She is a great girl! I have nothing negative to say about her. She has been a true companion to our family. She goes everywhere with no fear. She enjoys going out with me in the mornings on a walk and then she comes to work with me daily. She loves water. If one of us is in the shower and we leave the door open, Lulu will be in soon. We made a special place for her in our pool. She is the first in the water at the Lake. She is good about staying close to us.

Thor came from a litter of puppies Kim took in because the breeder was having hard times. Even though both dogs came from Avalanche lines you could tell the puppies were not raised the same. Thor had a few issues when we first got him. He had never been introduced to water before he came to Avalanche. He was a good natured dog but wasn't socialized to the degree I felt Lulu was when we got her.

Lee & Kim were there to help us with Thor and guide us to help him become the amazing dog he is today. Thor learned alot by watching Lulu and how we praised her when she pleased us. I am proud to report that Thor and Lulu are best friends and we have come to love him very much. He is no longer afraid of water. He doesn't jump in right away like Lulu but he will now go swimming with us.

Thank you Lee & Kim for two wonderful dogs. I would recommend Avalanche Cane Corso to anyone looking for a loving good natured dog.

Outstanding Kennel

AUTHOR: john - ()

POSTED: Monday, October 14, 2013

I have also been wanting to write a review about Avalanche but didn't know where to write besides their FB page. I have also been doing business with Avalanche since they started. I have 3 dogs from them. Our male is a black brindle out of Arturo x Juna. His name is Tag. Our girl Avalon is a blue brindle out of Arturo x Juniper. Our oldest female Jada is a red brindle out of Jordi x Canyon.

They are all 3 are different but all 3 are good natured and very loyal. Everything Lee and Kim said about each of the pups was exact. I couldn't be more pleased with the way they have turned out.

I have many stories I can share about the Chapmans. How they donated dog food to help me when I lost my job. How they allowed the dogs to stay at the kennel when I had my surgery for free. How they helped me to house train the pups before I got them. How everytime I call with a question they are helpful.

I have enjoyed working with The Chapmans and look forward to doing business again in the future.

I'm also pleased with our dog from Avalanche. I got Uno when she was 4 months old. She was very easy to house train and took right away to our family. She has always been a very bright and intelligent dog. She has great drive which is one of the qualities we were looking for in our puppy. Uno was current on her shots when we picked her up. Uno has been a healthy girl all her life. I can't brag enough about how happy I am with Uno. I want to thank Lee & KIm for all their help and for trusting me with this amazing dog.

Very pleased!

AUTHOR: l.thomas - ()

POSTED: Sunday, October 13, 2013

My name is Lauren and I am from North Carolina. I couldn't let another day go by and not say something positive about Avalanche Kennels. I also own a business. I know how hard it can be trying to please everyone. I hope that anyone looking for a Cane Corso will  give Axalanche a try!

I was blessed to get a puppy from the Diesel x Myah litter born March 3, 2003. I was fortunate to live close enough so I could pick my puppy up. I was not only impressed with Myah and Diesel but with how clean the kennel was, inside and out.

For all of you that have had the pleasure to own a pup produced by Diesel or had the pleasure of meeting him, will understand when I speak about my Titus. He was just like his sire. He loved his family. He would do anything for us at any time. He slept at the foot of our bed since the first day we brought him home. But he was also very protective. He would stand in front of us when strangers would come close. He would lay outside while my kids would play in the yard. If my kids were watching TV, so was he. He went everywhere with us. He passed away on June 9th, of this year. He was 10 years old.

My family and I have been to visit the kennel MANY times. I remember when I went to pick up Titus and Kim said, remember Cane Cosro are like potato chips.. you can't have just one.  Boy was she right. I bought my next puppy 2 years later.  As of today My family and I have six. All of them are from Avalanche. I am happy to say they have all been healthy with good temperaments.  I have nothing but great things to say about Avalanche. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good natured pup.

We had a death in our family 2 years ago. We were stressed trying to find a place to leave the dogs while we were gone. I called Kim to ask if she knew any place or anyone that might could help with the dogs. She told me not to worry to bring the dogs the next day and they could stay at the kennel while we were gone.  Lee wouldn't take any money or dog food. They took care of them for the 3 weeks we were gone. There are no words to express how much we appreciate what they did for us.

Thank you Kim and Lee for all the joy you have brought to me and my family.

After being reported to the SC Department of Consumer Affairs and the SC BBB by Sheri Shaver,  each department favored in behalf of Avalanche Cane Corso. They both agreed Avalanche Cane Corso showed good faith in their effort to resolve this negative situation caused by Ms Shaver.

Avalanche Kennels is innocent

AUTHOR: Kimberlyc - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 02, 2012

This is to defend myself from the lies being told about me from Ms Shaver. I will proof each complaint she made against me is untrue.

All of this started because Ms Shaver wrote to me asking for a refund of her money because she was going to have several surgeries and needed her money back for medical cost.

Never once did she mention to me how upset she was for having to wait on her puppies. Never once did she mention to me how upset she was about anything.

It's odd to me that all this happened after I asked her to please send me something from her doctor stating she wouldn't be able to take care of the puppies after her surgery.

I feel if this is the case why didn't she just send me the proof from her doctor and we could end this matter in a kind manner.

1. It states on my policy page and in my contract I give no refunds towards any monies paid towards my puppies.

If Ms Shaver had a problem with this policy why did she pay any money towards not just one puppy but two puppies from me? She paid for the puppies at two different times not all at once.

2.Ms Shaver states that she did not know that the breedings between Chiara and the breeding with Bali had not taken place.

Ms Shaver please reread  the receipt I emailed you back in May. It states and I quote. Chiara will be bred on Sunday.

Therefore she knew Chiara was NOT bred before she paid the money towards a puppy. She also knew Bali would not be bred for awhile after Chiara. I have included a copy of the email stating how much she paid and about Chiara being bred after her money was paid. Ms Shaver herself had tried to use this email against me on another forum. It only made her look dishonest.

3, Ms Shaver states she only wanted two Formentino colored pups. Never in any of her emails does she state this to me.

I even asked Ms Shaver when we spoke to send me an email where she stated this. I never received one.

Ms Shaver said I never spoke with her about the Bali litter when it was born.

Here is an email dated October 20 2011 where she is asking me to help her pick her two puppies please note the color she asked about first. BLUE BRINDLE. She is claiming she never wanted any other color but Formentino.

As you can determine from this email we had spoke about Bali and her litter over the phone. I had told Ms Shaver about Bali and her

strange behavior with her puppies and how to me the best puppies had passed away.

Bali had 11 puppies at birth. It's sad to say as the puppies aged some died. It happens. it's life.

Its something breeders have to worry about happening in every litter.

My Vet came out to help us with Bali and her puppies. Anyone that knows me knows my Vet Dr Walker. His office is just up the street from my home.

He said mother dogs know when there is something wrong with their puppies. He said a puppy can look normal and we think the mother is being mean by her behavior

they will push the puppies away and no longer feed them or they will move them away completely from her den. As sad as it sounds Bali did this. All but one of her puppies died.

If myself or my Vet felt that there was any danger in breeding Bali again I assure you it wouldn't have happened.

Here is the email I spoke about.

Hey Kim,

Just wanted to touch base with you and let you know after talking with you I am going to pass on this litter. I was hoping to be in the show ring this winter but its not going to happen.

Knowing this I just need to be patient and not rush in picking a pup. I need you to help me pick a grey/blue brindle female for showing and breeding.

I am not sure if I want 2 brindles at this point or a formentino or blue. I do want to get both pups close in age to try to stay close to my timeline.

You have dealt with the breed longer than myself and I trust your judgment and appreciate your honesty in what you told me on this litter of Balis.

I am putting a lot of thought into what I want to breed as far as getting the color in the litter I am aiming for.

If the parents are color locked in genetics it will take me too long (in my timeline) to achieve what I have in mind.

I appreciate all the advice you have given me so far and I know you will help me achieve what I am striving for.

I also hope to champ a couple of your dogs in the ring and put the Avalanche name out there further. Thank you for being patient and helping me,

call me when you have time and let me know what breedings you have coming up and what I can expect. This will give me time to plan and decide what will work for

what I hope to achieve in breeding.

Thanks again and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sheri Shaver

4. I have text messages that I will post on here from Ms Shaver dated August 14, 2011 stating she saw the pics of the Chiara pups, she commented how cute they were but at this time she is gonna pass on the litter she wasn't interested in a blue brindle puppy at this time.

She writes how she will wait on the Bali litter and will pick a puppy from a latter litter.

I was kind and told her I had no problem with that and would move her to a latter litter.

On October 10, 2011 I receive a text from Ms Shaver asking if she could have two pups from the Bali litter.

On October 11, 2011 I answer Ms Shaver saying I can't give her two pups from this litter I don't have another pup available.

On the same date Ms Shaver emails me asking if I have any blue brindle females available. she also ask what pups I have available that she could come and pick from.

5. Ms Shaver comments about a virus my dogs picked up after we first moved here on our land. This is why I say her stories are twisted. My best Friend came to help us for a week

Jamie Kerbel along with my children and several other family members all came together to help us spray for this awful virus. My Vet made up a mixture of pesticides for us to spray everywhere to kill this virus that can causes problems for other animals. We had to spray it everywhere everyday for a week.

Then after the 7th day of treatment everything had to be cleaned with Clorox. Its something none of us will ever forget.

It makes me sick to think she wrote about that awful event in the manner in which she did.

Ms Shaver says I double sell maybe triple sell my puppies. How can I do that when I have a fan page and all the families come there to write about my puppies and talk about the pup they received? I post about the families that receive my POL pups. Those puppies represent my kennel. I have been breeding for 12 years. Ms Shaver is angry because she wants her money back and will say anything negative about me and my dogs in hopes to get it. Ms Shaver agreed to my policies before she paid any money.

Here is the email where Ms Shaver wrote to me about her health problem.

From: Subject: Puppies

To:

Hello Kim,
I am writing you to fill you in on some current info going on with my health. I know you understand as you have been battling your own, I had told you of the ongoing problems I have had since February last year. Some have cleared up however some remain. The problem I have yet to resolve is with my Achilles tendon and knee; I have a torn tendon at the heel and severe RA in my knee of the same leg. I have been in physical therapy rehab in hopes of getting it to heal but to no avail.
The Doctors now recommend surgery to repair the damaged Achilles where it attaches to the heel. Once that is done and healed which they say will take about 3 months, I am having a knee replacement on the same leg. They tell me this may take 6 months or longer depending however they cant define depending?
So these facts be known they are scheduling the first surgery the end of January 2012. I am not sure how long I will be off of work, I do know I do not have enough sick leave to cover all I will need but I have no choice but to go forward or be permanently crippled.
In light of this I do not see how I will be able to handle any puppies as well as the cost of upkeep and feeding. I cannot predict how long I will be laid up with all this but it seems probable it will be most of the year up to September-October. I am inquiring as to getting a refund on the puppies, as much as I was looking forward to them I cannot see my way clear to care for them with my monthly bills compounded by the medical bills I will have. I understand we have an agreement but in the best interest of the puppies I cannot in good faith care for them. If you do not wish to rescind the contract I understand, however I want you to know that upon receiving the puppies I would be selling them, again for their best interest. I will not incur the care of an animal I cannot readily give the best care to. It will be a battle just to care for the four dogs and several cats I now have, I am single and my income is all I have to rely on at this point.
I would appreciate your support and understanding in this manner, as much as I wanted to launch my own kennel, my future plans are on hold indefinitely until I can, if at all resolve the health problems I have. But again in light of my problems, I could not conscionably take on an animal only to have it uprooted once it bonded. I take ownership of any animal seriously, and it is with the puppies best interest in mind that I have asked for your understanding in this manner. Please contact me when you have time.
Sincerely,
Sheri Shaver

I text Ms Shaver the same day she wrote me. If I can figure out how to post the text on here I will. I feel Ms Shaver is saying these mean ugly things about me and my kennel because she has been caught in a lie.  If you need anymore information from me please don't hesiate to ask. I will gladly send it.
