Avast Software Won't honor refund policy. Rip-off Redwood city California

I tried the Avast Free Virus software, and purchased a year of their "Tune-up" software.  After comparing it to the "Hitman Pro" software, I found that the Avast Software missed over 68 instances of malware and 2 viruses. When I called Avast on the phone, they told me that their software found the viruses before it was embedded in a file.  Really?  The way AV software finds a virus, is by the way it affects a file or files. 

I removed the software from my computer, and sent in a "ticket" for a refund of my purchase.  After a week, I have neither heard from them, or recieved a refund.  I think they just try to get people to buy their stuff, and when you find out it doesn't work, you're up the proverbial waterway without the proper rowing instrument.
