Aveda Institute Portland Dosha/Aveda Where does the Tuition go? Portland Oregon

The "Aveda” Institute of Portland CLAIMS the pricing for this Kit the students receive for the Federally Funded School is $XXXX. COSMETOLOGY: $2650 HAIR DESIGN: $2500 ESTHETICS: $1900 I’d love to find someone to back me up on this....because I’ve added & tallied up what this BS kit they distribute SHOULD cost, to what they claim it costs & it seems as though the kit is missing maybe, oh....I don’t know: over $1200 worth of equipment, tools, product & implements to get the most out of the Education at this location.

I myself, went to a non-discript NO name Cosmetology Center, Paid near the same Tuition & got a FULL kit w/products, implements & tools that were in the end, crucial to my Education/Training!!!! The students at AIP (Aveda Institute Portland) deserve a valuable kit that makes them feel confident in the products/tools they’d be using on the potential real world clients!! They are not being set up for success by a $300 IPad & a few brushes+tweezers from Dollar Tree. These guys get ZERO product!!!! NOTHING!! How does that help them learn the response the product will attain when applied, who it’s best for?! Who should use it?? How should they use it??

Those questions aren’t addressed, because they cannot even wrap their head around how to even use all the products!! They’re not even taught!!!! Now, as an Educator, I KNOW what Wholesale tools cost (as I too, am a business owner)....this extra money has to be going somewhere. Maybe the owners pockets?! It’s not such a off the cuff thought; considering once the owners bought a new Tesla & were taking trips all over the place, their employees checks were bouncing & can’t seem to pay their staff anywhere near what they are worth (which is why the turnover rate is so high).

I’m ashamed to say, I worked for them: until I saw how truly UNethical & money hungry they were. They are not passionate about the students Education, they want that money. Which is why I left & will no longer support this company. Every staff member has to pay nearly $4k/yr in parking or $2k/yr in public transit. They don’t comp a pass or anything!! No way would I recommend these thieves to anyone!!!! Aveda Institutes are all privately owned & this Portland location is a SHAM!! No other schools are any better in the area & is say AIP is the better of the choices, but still not worth spending $20-10+ of Tuition
