I had been looking to enroll in a nursing program, so I had been online inquiring about the different options. I filled a questionnaire and submitted it. About 1-2 days after submitting the questionnaire, Jessica Jacobson had called me to enroll me into a nursing program. We had discussed the time frame that it would take to obtain my degree.
I had informed her that one of my biggest concerns would be finance. She stated that she would help me to fill out loans to cover tuition fees, etc. She suggested that I first take the health care administration associates program first because the cost of an associates program is cheaper than going straight into the nursing (that I later found out was non-existent).
Now, I am asking for them to return my loan money to my student loan lender and they are declining my request. So far, I had taken one block of classes (two classes) and they are charging me $1900.00. I am so frustrated and because it is an online program, there is nowhere that I can go to discuss this matter in person and everyone there is just giving me the run around.

THINK before you ACT....
AUTHOR: Katie Marie - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, December 11, 2008
First off I would like to tell anyone that has a problem with Axia of University of Phoenix Online, that maybe they should actually ask other individuals about colleges and the numbers they got.
I have asked all kinds of questions to make sure I wasn't going to get ripped off. I can't afford that. I am now taking a 6 month leave from Axia -- University of Phoenix. My husband had, now done as of yesterday (Wednesday, Dec. 10th, 2008) cancer in his chest. We need to reconstruct our family which includes our daughter, dog, cats and horses. Axia has approved of it and yes, I have $2080.00 that needs to be paid from my student loans getting canceled on me because of my OWN actions... I was not doing the work when I was suppose to and my mind wasn't on college when my husband got diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma... So because of my stupidity, I now owe money, but when I start classes back up in June, my financial aid will come into play and will take care of the $2080.00 that I now owe.
When I had started college at Axia I had my laptop which had all the programs needed. Then my family and I moved and after a month my computer shut down on me and I'm still trying to figure it out, as of now I am still using my husbands father's computer and it does not have the programs needed to complete my classes, so I am taking a 6 month drop out leave and as soon as I get another computer or get mine fixed I will return to college.
There has been not lying about the programs needed or my intuition, or grants or financial aid. I have been told everything from the beginning and it is really hard to believe that someone was LIED to... Unless they got into an Insecure Site and applied at a fictional college that is misleading. As of University of Phoenix, Axia..... It is a great school and should not be talked down upon.
So, before YOU think about writing a report about ANY college or even attending any college you should ask around about the college, make phone calls to the lender of you financial aid, find the actual Web Site for the Campus even if it doesn't say online, and ask questions about the person you have been talking to. I had done the same thing to make sure I wasn't going to be ripped off....
So, before YOU take ACTION you should first THINK!
Thank you...... K.M.N.
