Axsys National Bank - Fingerhut ripoff overbilling after settlement made I want to finally be done for good with this company! New York New York

Before Fingerhut became Axsys National Bank we made a settlement to them to pay off the account that seemed to be an outrageous amount. This was approximately two-three years ago and since it has been such a long time, I did not keep the information for the pay-off.

When they became Axsys National Bank, I began to receive bills for $92.00, which doesn't seem like a large amount, yet the bill was already paid in full. For the last year I have been receiving bills and it has been shown on our credit report, giving us quite a problem. So I decided to dispute the bill since it was paid.

I have written 3 letters to the company now regarding the bill being paid and giving them as much information as I could, however, they say that there is no proof and we still have to pay it. I had made the payment to Fingerhut themselves, therefore Axsys said that it was never paid because they do not have that record.

Recently I have been applying for jobs with the federal government for law enforcement, however this has been a serious burden on them. I have been accepted by two positions but the problem was this bill since they go over your credit report extensively. I am now having to prove that the bill was either paid or that I am taking care of it and get a statement from the company, but they are not so cooperative. So I am paying the bill now because it is ruining my chances of working with the government and because they will not send me a statement until it is paid, yet I know that it has been paid already.

Someone has to stop this foolishness of this company. There are many people who have been hurt worse than us as far as money is concerned, however, now it is interfering with my career and the rest of my life. I want it taken off my credit report and I want to finally be done for good with this company!
