Hired UPW in June 2011 with a promise of a complete redesign of our existing small business (pet service) website. We were told they could include enhanced features, search engine optimization, and would grant us full access to the editing software with the ability to publish changes. We paid $649.00.

Our request was to have it completed by mid to late August. We were assured it would be complete within 4-6 weeks. I heard nothing else for the first two weeks. I asked to cancel, not having a good feeling about my decision or confidence in the designer I was assigned.  I had not seen even a first draft. But, was reminded of the time frame and assured they would be more responsive.

I spent 10 weeks of near daily checking status, only to find nothing done. I was sending very detailed ideas and specific scripting, images, and instructions for revisions. I was practically creating every page top to bottom of what I wanted. Still they would never get done I gave up. What they had created in the 10 weeks, was nothing close to a professional site. It was nowhere near what I had asked for.

They would not respond to emails. Phone calls were painful as they were very unprofessional.  The phantom owner never contacted me after my many requests for refund.  I still (in December) have no site and only a refusal of a refund from UPW.

First of all, I don't care how fluffy you attempt to make it sound - the truth can be found in your own former employee's report #790452.  

Second - the link that you just published to our mock-up site has just guaranteed you a law suit.

You were never given our permission to launch that site. Here's your breach of contract! 

No, I didn't ask you to work for free. Obviously sense I paid you $649.00. I did expect you to do what you were hired to do and in the time frame in which you promised. After ten weeks, in my email dated 9/13/11 I specifically stated:

 I'm done with Ultimate Pet Websites. I'm not at all happy with the service or the result. I have asked for a refund numerous times. Why it is that no one is willing to step up and get that done for me?  Anyhow, I had an appointment yesterday to hand over my case to our legal representative. 

Last weekend I sat down myself and using what I've been paying for all along, Intuit online... I put together our site, including everything I had asked of you. I published it and it's done. Took me about 3 days. I would have saved my self countless hours of wasted time and engery and most importantly our $649. Sorry to say....but you may scrap what you started.

We werent going to pursue legal action but now, its on! You have no legal right to post that link to our business without our permission. I have no ability to change it therefore advertising we build it you control it is false.

If you have or had the volume of business you claim, with your very small team, it would clear as to which one of us is accurate in their report. I might suggest that you consider your reputation by making good on your guarantees and satisfying your clients business needs.  

I have fully documented every interaction with your company. I can clearly show the lack of effort that was put into our project. Im happy to disclose these details to anyone considering hiring Ultimate Pet Websites.  I would especially love to show the first draft of our site, which consisted solely of a home page and missing one critical thing - our business logo. It might interest people to see the results of nearly 3 weeks effort of your then new designers work.

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.  We are truly sorry that your experience with our organization was not 100% satisfactory. 

As you know, we did create a complete website for you and it is still live at: http://www.dookys.stlgo.com/

This site matches your submitted specifications and the preferences you discussed with your designer via our project management system.  As you know, we offered to completely redesign the site to accommodate any other specifications that you may have.  That offer still stands.  We cannot, however, offer a refund for a website that we have already designed. 

As you can see, the site consists of dozens of pages and hours of design and content work. 

As the largest pet website design firm in the United States with over 700 clients, we are able to offer quality sites such as the one designed for you at an extremely affordable price.  We cannot, however, do that work for free, which is essentially what you are asking us to do. 

As the Better Business Bureau also told you, we made every effort to resolve this situation and we have not violated any terms of our contract with you in any way.  The delay  you refer to in this complaint was a result of your not allowing us to transfer the site to your current domain. 

We are more than willing to do what it takes to complete this project.  To reiterate, our offer to completely redesign your website still stands.  Our policy is to provide our clients with the site they desire and are 100% satisfied with regardless of the length of time it takes to achieve that goal.  Our onsistent high rating with the Better Business Bureau will attest to that.
