Very old scam

AUTHOR: Giselle - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Monday, November 02, 2015

This type scam pre-dates the internet and goes back to the Depression era. It amazes me the number of people who continue to fall for this.  Even 5 minutes of internet research would prove to anyone this is a scam.  Beyond that, it's common sense. Why would anyone pay someone a bunch of money to mail brochures out? Companies with this much need for mailing would use a copier machine that would do thousands per hour for them.  They could go to Kinkos and get them to do for way cheaper. Heck, they could even hire people at minimum wage (or less) to sit and do it. And they would hire them locally.  This scam makes money off you in 3 ways.  First, they get that start-up fee from you.  That the big thing.  But then, they still make money because you are paying the postage for them, to entice others to fall this BS. Third, when others fall for the same scam, and send in their money, boom, they just made money off you again. You aren't going to receive a dime.  The U.S. Postal system says they know of NO ONE who has ever made money particpating in these type "business opportunities" (except for the people running it).  I HATE that people continue to fall for this and lose money they probably can't afford to lose.  Meantime, there are thousands of these type "companies" that keep shutting down due to an sting or being sued or because they simply get scared and move on.
