Bally's Total Fitness Beware of signing a contract! Henrietta, New York

Beware of signing a long-term contract. Things can change drastically in a short period of time before your contract is up. The Henrietta NY location has had 3 managers in 2 years. Their hours and childcare center hours have been cut. The variety of classes has drastically gone downhill. They used to have parties for the kids in the childcare for Halloween etc. Now nothing. They are supposedly shorthanded so much so the childcare center has been unexpectedly closed 4 times in a month! Yet where is the manager?

Shouldn't he be at the front desk if they are so shorthanded? It is so impersonal that sometimes you don't even see a person and check yourself in with an automated machine.I know for a fact the manager was not there today when the childcare was closed unexpectedly. It is very inconvenient for families to show up together only to find out the childcare center is closed yet obviously not inconvenient for the manager who is not there and obviously has better things to do than deal with lack of staff. Try calling the National number and see if you can get a live person.

That is the first hint of how much they care. It's like an oven in there.  I'm told you have to sign up for spin class 30 minutes in advance so either come 30 minutes early and sit around or stop whatever you are doing to sign up and then get an assigned cycle like a child who cannot make their own choices. If I had to sign up today, I definitely would not.  They do not care once they have you in a contract. I am only hoping all the people that have been treated badly do not renew and that it will speak volumes when the business goes under.
