Allan H. Nakata is a verbally and emotionally abusive manager who uses brainwashing to control the agents that work for Bankers Life and Casualty Co. Not sure if the company knows his managing techniques or what he is doing with his agents but his ways are unethical, illegal and downright wrong!

On the onset, Allan H. Nakata will tell you that he is the "Number One Guy in the Insurance Industry in the State of Hawaii" because he ahead all these designations that follow his name. This is bogus becausHeidi you ask any regular person in Hawaii about him, 95-99% of people will say they have never heard of him.

Allan H. Nakata will also tell you he has these awards such as the National Republican Award which has nothing to do with the insurance industry and the way you get thatbparticular award is by donating a bunch of money to the National Republican Committee.

He will make you go to clients and tell you to and give them an extremely long presentation all about "Mr. Allan H. Nakata" And why he is so great. It is called the PYRAMID presentation and talks about how "Mr. Allan H. Nakata" is in the top 5 percent of ALL the insurance industry managers in Hawaii. He is very anal about it and likes us to say his name as "Mr. Allan H. Nakata" and not as Allan Nakata or even Mr. Nakata, it has to always now Mr. Allan H. Nakata.

He is very very INSECURE and will be two-faced and trash talk about ALL of his agents, former secretary, and even his wife and father in law. In one incident, he told a homosexual male agent that he could not sell insurance "because he was acting too gay!" That agent left the company within two weeks.

During recruiting, Mr. Nakata will tell the recruiters to emphasize that the office is like a "safe haven" and a "second home", everyone in the office is "like family". But again these are all LIES and the office is anything but. Because Allan H. Nakata is so insecure about himself, he has to have 6 different designations after his name. And you'll see all those designations on the plaque of the entrance to the office. He also seems to enjoy putting other people down to make himself feel better. He is basically a bully and verbal abuser who makes the agents feel like they "need" him over time.

He starts off by gaining your trust and showing you how great of a guy his is. He makes sure you believe that he "cares" about you and he's there to help you. Once he's earned your trust, then he will start slowly controlling your lifestyle, telling you what to do, who to date, who to not date, what to eat, what to wear, how long your hair should be, what color your hair should be, what schools your future kids should go to, what church to go to, etc etc and the list goes on and on!!!

He told the women in the office (there were about 8 of them at the time) that they could not sell insurance because "they were too fat" and "needed to lose some weight". At one time, he told two of the girls what weight they should be at. He told one girl that she needed to get down to 120 lbs (she was 160 lbs). He told another girl she needed to get down to 135 lbs (she was also around 160 lbs). He told yet another girl that she needed to get down to 105 lbs (she was already at 120 lbs).

He told the girls to go on a week long broccoli diet. The diet consisted of eating only broccoli, deli meat and apples for a week. Allan H. Nakata would call some girls who were eating in the kitchen "pig", "fat", or "pork" when he would walk by.

He would tell the girls in the office to break up with their boyfriends because "they were getting in the way of achieving their dreams".  It sounds weird to bring up but the three women who worked under him the longest were married before and are now all divorced/seperated. Laurie Tsuji (divorced), Karen Osaki(divorced; finally quit working for Mr. Nakata), Jane Mesa(questionable, but husband no longer lives in Hawaii).

there is a lot more but saving that for later...

The Real Allan Nakata.

AUTHOR: Jerry DC - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, April 11, 2016

I read this article 3 1/2 years ago.  Did it alarm me? It would to anyone! But I wanted to share the work ethic of Mr. Nakata, the people I work with, and the promises that he keeps.  Mr. Allan H. Nakata, as he is presumed to be mandatorily called, is a very generous, careing, and a patient man.

Mr. Nakata is very and generous. What I want to make absolutley clear is that this in no ways means he is a push-over.   He is very focused on making everyone who is willing to learn and make them succesful.  The most precious thing that someone can give to you is their "time".  To few times in any industry do General Managers/Presidents of companies like to work with only the management in their company.  I can tell you of countless occations that Mr. Nakata has cleared his schedule to be there for me during my first year.

His "integrity" is what this message is trying to, lack of a better word,  "destroy".  Mr. Nakata's one focus is to help the community.  The way he allows us to do this is by allowing us to use his name. Even to those who just started with the company.  What I mean by using his name is that we have a GREAT resource to lean on to make sure right decisions are made. When the County, Churches, Unions, and numerous Associations endourse him, who do you really think these groups think he is out to help?  Himself?  After I read the article and meeting majority of the Women that were mentioned, I came to a realization that they all left SUCCESSSFUL careers to better themselves and have been with him for a long career.  Success is a lonely road,  that no one can doubt, but motivation whether positive or negative can be taken either way.  It is the individuals choice! Take the message from someone who has been there if you want to learn to be truly successful.

One thing that stuck with me from Mr. Nakata is to keep your Promises.  This journey that I took with Mr. Nakata eventually lead me to a GM position with Roberts Hawaii.  One call after another reminded me of my promises to the office and to my clients.  To keep things short I resigned from my position to return to do the work with Mr. Allan Nakata and all the Associates.

Finally, this is a para-phrase from original letter. "they were getting in the way of achieving their dreams."  We can all, in our own experiences, attest to the truth to this on why we may not be successful today.  Each of us who will look at this and have to decide which to really believe or how much of it is really true.  All I can say is great companies create great partnerships.  Take a look at his website and make your decision, I made mine.

Bankers Life abusive mantra

Nakoff is marching to the company beat.  They like him very much for that.  In fact he will probably get a promotion to some kind of regional manager.  That's what they do.
Ask any former agent and you will be told the same story in different words.  The trust build up, the tear down, the we wish we could keep you, or if you had only worked that weekend, your success would have been garenteed.  The, 'I was here for you', if your not a closer your a loser, you should have lost weight, dyed your hair, shaved/grew a beard, asked for the appointment more, and lied better to Granny, outlook/leadership model is taught and expected.
After that,  the 'systems' and 'the company' take over.  The standardized rewritting of business, the suddenly created 'charge backs', the threat letters,....complimented by the 'bad mouthing' of all who 'left', read shut out by the controled Gyphen/DoNotCall routinely, after the 90 days of BS resulting in the office account getting a grand for each victim,  they wave good bye and twist that knife in the back one more time, as each 'failure' leaves with their head hung down, or madder than two MF's.
Keep up the good reporting, it will get the word out,... he will get complimented, especially on his ignorant gay remark, which BTW, I've heard stated in a much more derogatory words in a different branch office, in addittion to other bigoted comments that can demean anyone who is not 'like them' (whatever that is).  Oh, wait, I think that means, everyone who is not willing to lie, cheat, and steal from peers and consumers.
