I started and completed the full term with this modeling school. I was one of the best in my class and received on going recognition throughout the fulltime i was attending (paying) these classes. We had runway shows, photo shoots, guest speakers, etc. I thought it was a dream come true.... Until the time for graduation came around, i graduated top of my class, most likely to succeed in the modeling field, everything except for runway (not tall enough) was said that i would be perfect for. But after that i didn't receive a certificate, any of my pictures or bios no make-up(that i paid for) or anything else that i was promised.
I was so disappointed, I paid over $1500 dollars to these people and had nothing to show for it. I felt so bad, but thats not the only thing, it did not just happen to me it happened to a majority of the girls that attended (the ones i kept in touch with). Everytime i contacted them they kept saying "We are so sorry, we will refund u a certain amount for the things u didn't receive." That did not happen and they constantly dodged my calls or sending me anything in the mail. And if that wasnt the worst thing they actually sent me a "Join Barbizons Team " Postcard to join the modeling school i had already attended. So i was totally ripped off and its like they slapped me in my face with the postcard.

#7 UPDATE EX-employee responds
You have to work at finding work.

I just wanted to say that I graduated from Barbizon over 14 years ago (I was thirteen) and loved the program. Of course they are not going to find you work. How many schools do you know of where they find work for you? You have to market yourself. Barbizon gives you the tools and education you need to become a fashion model, actor or just polish your skills. They are not going to hold your hand. If you graduate from a University, the school does not provide job placement and even if they have some type of job search assistance, you must provide your own resume.
I have found lots of work because of my Barbizon education. I am not a famous fashion model and I too was told I was "too short for runway" but have worked runway shows anyway, print/magazines and commercials. If you are serious, professional and dedicated you can make it happen and eventually, the work will find you if you are good at your job.
Not only is Barbizon a great modeling school but it helps teens with self esteem, they encourage good relationships with family and positive influences, doing good in school and professionalism. I have seen so many shy, insecure, self conscious teens blossom into more beautiful (inside and out), friendlier and smarter people. In any case and before going to any school, please investigate and research beforehand, ask about the classes and what is offered and make sure you understand what you are paying for. Let them know what you expect.

I worked at a hotel were barbazon held its meetings, I guess that is what they would be called, and some of the ugliest people were in those classes. I dont mean to be rude, but they are feeding on the kids that want to have a shot and want to be told that they have a shot. Its all about the money. Iam willing to bet that less 5 percent of those kids actually get a modeling job after they graduate. I know i wouldnt want to look at their mugs in any clothes i was thinking about buying. It is a scam!!!!!

Barbizon Does Not Promise Modeling Work
AUTHOR: Kelli - (U.S.A.)

I am a current student at Barbizon Dallas and the school heavily emphasized that modeling work of any kind is not guaranteed to students or graduates of their programs. Barbizon or other modeling schools are not necessary to break into the modeling business, but it's experience for those who are completely unaware of the realities of the industry. Some of the Barbizon schools have an agency associated with it (Dallas does), and the agency will typically pass along local modeling opportunities when they arise. But nowhere in the company's written material do they promise anyone auditions or work of any kind.
