Barclay Bank Aka BarclaycardUS Unauthorized charges causing additional bank charges Wilmington Delaware

Barclay took over from another company the credit card services for BJ's Wholesale Club some months ago. Somehow they decided that I should have "Account Protection Plus", a thing I never authorized and did not and do not want. I have been unable due in part to failing telephone services on my end, but also due to the computer that answers for that second business, "Account Protection Plus" at 800-742-1461. I have been run around the maypole trying to get this unwanted service removed and my account corrected.

Due to the spotty telephone sevice at my home, I have been unable to get incoming calls reularly, but last Sunday, June 29, 2008, I did get a call from Barclay complaining that I was delinquent. I said yes and explained to the first caller that I had been unable to get to them to have the bill corrected. He passed me to another individual (agent security code RISJBR) who after asking all the possible security questions refused to talk to me regarding the account.

Finally, today the phone company came and has my serice working properly and I now have internat again. I planned to call Barclay on Monday, the next available business day, but got a call incoming first from them (person unidentified). He demanded I pay the full bill and I said I would not until the account was corrected. Thereupon he gave me a blast and hung up.

There seems to be no way to talk to any responsible person at this company. I now believe there is definite fraud going on and it needs to be curtailed. It transcends all sense to be penalized entirely due to a fraudulent unauthorized charge that I am unable to address.
