In January 2009 I went online to pay my Juniper credit card with no problem. In February I tried to do the same and could not access their online site. I called their phone line to make the payment, gave my account number twice to someone who could barely speak english, and had a very hard time understanding. The agent gave me my confirmation number, and told me I would receive a confirmation by e-mail in a few days. Six days had passed and I was going out of town for a week, so I called to make sure that indeed the payment was secured. I gave the agent my confirmation number and said I was checking to see if the payment was secured, since I had not received an e-mail and I was going out of town. The agent assured me they had received the payment and to have a nice trip. I came back a week later and my ex-husband tells me they have been hounding him relentlessly for a payment. Next days mail I get a bill from them with all these fees and my interest rate went up 5 TIMES THE AMOUNT of the previous month because they said they couldn't locate the account. I asked them why they didn't get my account # from their computer system since I had paid online the month before, they said they couldn't find it!!!!!!!!! Mind you I had NEVER been late paying this account. I spoke to countless account representatives to no avail, many times they said they would get back to me and never did, I was even hung up on. I am unemployed and now receive an unemployment check for $251.00 a week. The amount that they want is more than 2 of my checks combined, I cannot pay that, my child and I need a roof over our heads and food first. As a conscientious consumer I had been diligently paying all my bills on time and more than the minimum payment. As far as my credit is concerned I don't care at this point, and would rather pay cash than do business with crooks that get big bail out money from the tax payers and turn around and try to get over on the little people to fill their greedy pockets. I am flabbergasted that this is allowed to happen. The last time I called to try and straighten this out they asked me if they could reach me by E-mail at Babsb........ and I said yes, how did you know my e-mail account but not been able to find the account number from my last transaction on line? Why because this is a way for Barclay Bank to screw people and make more money. Their Incompetence created this problem and they want me to pay for their mistake, I think they did it on purpose to raise my rate!!!!!!!! In the interim I closed out my checking account and had realized that the payment to my WAMU account had been not paid and came back. I called WAMU and they took the late payment fee off and it didn't effect my interest rate at all, Thank You WAMU for being a reputable company and working with your customers, unlike Barclay Bank and their shameful mafia loan sharking procedures!!!!!!
