The company is run by Dennis Bass and the geologist for the company is Ed Minihan. Please save your time and money do not invest with this company they are totally in the dark when it comes to oil & gas, I made the mistake of investing with Dennis Bass over three years ago and it has been a total disaster. They have a decent project with a decent price but they have made more mistakes than I can count. It is not that they’re crooks but they just don’t know what you’re doing the simplest project seems to take months ( Now I see that they are crooks). I have invested in 6 projects with these people over a three-year period and it has been a nightmare from the very beginning, they can’t seem to finish anything, if I had to do it over I would never have invested any money in this company to start with. They seem to be out of their depth when it comes to these projects and don’t seem to be any in any hurry to finish.

Now at this point Dennis Bass won’t even return my phone calls for the last year and before that he acted  indignant every time I tried to get in touch him, when you question him on what is happening on your project he makes out like you don’t have any idea what should be done and he does.  So when you try to or make any kind of a comment to him if you ask questions and that are reasonable he acts like you’re trying to downgrade him, I have tried everything imaginable to make the system work with this guy but obviously I have wasted my time and my money,  this has been the most frustrating thing I have ever gotten into in my entire life please save yourself the trouble and don’t invest here, there are much better projects out there. At this point the only option that I now have is a lawsuit and so I filed that last week . Please save yourself the trouble and don’t invest here, there are much better projects out there.

Rebuttal To Frederick Hussey

AUTHOR: BarDenBass Exploration Co, Inc. - ()

POSTED: Friday, October 24, 2014

Mr.Hussey did indeed invest with my company in six different two well packages in the Okemah, Oklahoma area. We acquired these leases with the intent to drill to the “Dutcher” formation in search of oil at approximately 3000’. Our Geologist Ed Minihan who has some 35 years experience in this area noted that there had been a well drilled recently about a mile away which made a good gas well in the “Cromwell” formation at approximately 3200’. The Geology supported the possibility that it could be found on our leases.

We elected to drill down through the “Cromwell” with the first two wells Mr. Hussey participated in. As it turned out we made a very good gas well on our first try. The Brooks 2-2A well came in at over 400 mcfgpd. This is very wet gas at over 1400 BTU which gives us a very nice price bonus. Our second well the Brooks 2-2B turned out to be a small oil well coming in at 12 bopd.

The bottom line on this first two well package is that it paid back in approximately 18 months and has continued to produce an average of 7-8,000,000 cfg per month, yielding approximately $7-$800 per month per 3.125% WI unit held. Note:  these are Turnkey packages where the company is required to complete only one zone in each well. The company completed three zones in the Brooks wells at no additional expense to the investors.

The second two well package Mr. Hussey participated in was the Alexander 35-1A & 35-2A wells. Both of these wells were drilled to the “Hunton” formation at approximately 3900’. Both wells were completed as gas wells averaging 160-180 mcfgpd between them.  Again being a Turnkey project the company was only required to complete one zone per well. The company completed three zones in the two wells at no additional expense to the investors.

By this time it was it was becoming apparent that if we kept drilling we would soon have an infrastructure problem as Scissortail (our gas buyer) only had one 3” gas line in the area to take our gas to market and we were not the only operator tied into this line. We contacted them regarding this situation and were assured that they would supply us with the needed gas line which would handle all the gas we could produce. We were assured they would have a new 6” gas line laid within 90 days.

As it turned out we did drill more wells with the capacity to produce more gas. It took Scissortail approximately one year from the time they began acquiring right-of-ways, surveying the route, and laying, burying, and completing the new 6”  line before it was operational. After the initial 90 days had passed it was a series of “it will only be another 3-4 weeks”.

At the time they opened the new 6” line to take gas, Scissortail stated and we agreed that if we kept finding more gas they would have to put a “compressor” on the line. We drilled, found more gas, took the new 6” line to it’s capacity, and Scissortail took six months to finally set the needed “compressor” on the line. During this time we were forced to shut-in or choke back some of the wells as the gathering line was full.

The third two well package that Mr Hussey invested in was the Bobby Adams 2-7A & 2-7B wells.

Both of these well were not completed as commercial wells. The company completed a total of five zones in the two wells with little production for the effort. Again the company was only required to complete one zone in each well. The additional zones were completed at no additional expenses to the investors.  These wells had been scheduled for plugging when we had a request to turn the wells back on. Out of respect for the person who made the request I agreed to do so. After about four weeks of pumping there was little change. They were shut-in again. After another few weeks I received the same request to turn the wells on again.  Against much opposition I agreed to do so.

After a week and a half of pumping the weeks began making about 12-14 mcfgpd  and after another few days began making a little oil also.  Bottom line is these wells will not be commercial producers. The little production they were making is declining and when they no longer cover the expenses will be plugged.

The fourth two well package Mr. Hussey invested in were the J Luckett 2-8A & 2-8B wells. The first Luckett well was completed in the “Hunton” zone and initially came in strong, unfortunately it also produced about 200 barrels of water per day. At this time our SW Disposal system was max’d out and we had no place to go with the water ( we had three small disposal wells initially, but when one developed holes in the casing we could no longer use it). Thus the Luckett well was shut-in until we could come up with more disposal capacity.

In May this year we received the funding for a new “Arbuckle” disposal well at approximately 5800’. We finished drilling the well in June. After getting it completed and equipped we turned in our application for a permit. It takes about six weeks to go through all the steps required by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission before they will issue you a permit. Earlier this month we received our permit to start using the new disposal well.  We are on the list of three companies to get a pulling unit that we need to be able to put the shut-in wells back online.

The fifth two well package Mr. Hussey invested in was the Brooks 2-2C & 2-2D wells. We completed three zones in the 2-2C well with little results. The well contributes about 12-15 mcfgpd to the total production of the two wells. The Brooks 2-2D well was completed in the “Hunton”  formation and came in at approximately 180 mcfgpd, it also makes about 150 bwpd. These wells were choked back off and on due to the SW production.

The sixth two well package Mr. Hussey invested in was the Alexander 35-2B & 35-2C wells. The 2C well was completed in the “Hunton” formation and initially came in at approximately 500 mcfgpd, unfortunately it also makes about 6-700 bwpd. This was more than we could handle at the time and the well was choked back until we could get more disposal capacity. The “Hunton” is known for it’s good production potential and excessive water production. The 2B well on log looks to be a twin to the 2C well, for this reason we did not want to complete the well until we received the permit for the new disposal well

Now that we have the infrastructure in place to handle all the gas we have been blessed to find  (recall we were initially looking for oil)  as well as the capacity to handle all the SW. We are now waiting on a pulling unit to be able to get the wells back online and to complete the one well that Mr. Hussey is involved in.

All in all Mr. Hussey has been receiving revenue monthly since November of 2012. All of his two well packages are producing  commercial quantities of oil/gas.  Although the Bobby Adams wells will not be commercial. His last revenue distribution was in September 2014 for the amount of just over $3700 (although some revenue was retroactive for a couple of months).

Mr. Hussey works off shore on an oil rig. He is knowledgeable of the business.  What I believe is that Mr. Hussey is in a totally controlled environment where everything he needs is within arms length. In central Oklahoma we have to deal with a dozen or more independent goods and service companies which have their own schedule. They do not sit around and wait for BarDen/Bass to call. Many times we have to wait weeks for a service company to get to us.

As to returning his calls, on the calls I have had with Mr. Hussey every third word is spelled with four letters. I finally e-mailed him and told him I would be glad to speak with him if he could keep the conversation civil. I sent him my e-mail address, my office number, and my cell number, I have not heard from him since.

Probably the biggest mistake I have made is not being able to anticipate the amount of success we would have in finding some high quality gas (again, we were looking for oil)  or for not anticipating the numerous delays that Scissortail Energy (now Kinder-Morgan which bought out Scissortail in mid 2013 which added to the delays during their transition period) would cause us to have.

This last year and a half has been frustrating for everyone. We are now in a position to finish up the wells that Mr. Hussey is on that are not already producing. I don’t believe he will be upset as he sees his revenue continue to increase.
