I ordered what I was told to be OEM 2002 escalade running boards. I talked toa sales rep at basic car parts prior to ordering the item.After talking to the rep and emailing the rep I asked the rep several times if the item I was purchasing was oem and it was the chrome running boards sales rep told me yes. I proceeded to place my order I asked for pictures of the item but the sales rep claim thatthey would send them at a later time after the holidays were over so after the holidays I called back to try to get the pictures of the item I was purchasing and she told me they had it packed up and ready to ship they had erased the pictures off the computer so I couldnt get any pictures. I also told the seller that I was stationed in Iraq my wife knows nothing about cars or what im looking for as far as the running boards go. My wife just now had my vehicle dropped off with the installer at this point it is already 45 daysafter the purchase.Therunning boardsBasic Car Parts sent was an aftermarket part made by j-mark and are made for 2000-present Tahoe and suburban SUVs this is not the item I had in mind. I told the seller several times oem part off the 2002-2005 escalade and she confirmed and said yes you are buy the oem part off an escalade this is not true. The manual doesnt say anything about escalade and the year is not correct 2000 is a total different look than 2002and has no chrome on it. The running boards are straight black like the ones I currently own.I only paid almost 800 bucks for running boards because I know the oem parts from the dealership are 2000 dollars I thought I was getting a deal.I am currently thinking about going to court because it doesn't sound like they want to refund my money they just want to keep wasting my time by giving me the run around like there doing something about the case. I cant get a refund from PayPal but my next step is to get ready for court. I was lied to by the sales rep and she knew I was in Iraq and had no way to look at the parts myself don't know why she would tell me they sell oem parts when they sell aftermarket replacement parts.I emailed the company they disregarded me no response I called I was placed on hold 3 times then told that they would take care of it but a week down the road there telling me the warehouse wont take it back. The parts have never been installed on my vehicle the mechanic I know just pulled them out to send me photos to show that they were not escalade running boards but straight black like the ones I currently have. The rep that sold me the item had the nicest customer service when she was making a sale but when I wanted to return the item because she sold me the wrong part she was miss attitude and hung up the second she told me she will get back with me next week. Im just a customer who was issued the wrong part and I was working to get my money back since I can't use the item they sent me and its the wrong part.
