If you're thinking of investing in a business, I would run, not walk from this one. They make promises of how much you can make which are totally false. I'm writing this for everyone so they don't lose a lot like I did.

I am not a marketer or employee of Battery Doctors. I am only a Battery Doctors dealer that paid my dealership fees just like everyone else. I stand by my original comments. I believe the filer of this complaint did not have the business expertise or drive to make this business work.
His testing of the batteries seems to be flawed. I have never had to discharge the batteries with a light. The testing of the batteries is simple with the equipment included by Battery Doctors. The batteries either pass or fail. However, some expertise, experience, and practice is required. Attending school is a MUST.
My business is successful and growing. I plan to open additional locations in the very near future.

Anyone looking for a legitimate business opportunity must also understand that "money for nothing" is just a line from a song, not a reality. This opportunity is exactly what is says it is - a solid business OPPORTUNITY.
My partner and I started our business in January 2005 and now, five years later, we are in the process of moving into an 18,500 sq. ft. manufacturing facility after starting in about 300 sq. ft. in my partners basement. There are areas that were not the same as we were told when investigating this opportunity, but that is business - things are always changing and to be successful one must be prepared to adapt and change with them. It's 100% true that it is POSSIBLE to get batteries at no cost, just as it is also 100% true that we purchase the cores we process. The circumstances that dictate whether or not one acquires for free or buys the cores to use is primarily how many batteries they are wanting to sell, or how big of a business they are looking to build, or how fast they are looking to recoup their investment. All these factors come into play in this business - just like they would in any other business.
Additionally anyone that thinks they can spend $13,000 (give or take) on a business opportunity and believe that they are buying everything they will need to succeed is either a very naive or very foolish - or both. What someone receives with this opportunity are the basic components needed to complete a specific process. What the buyer MUST bring to the equation is the tenacity, financial resources, and business know-how to take those components and build a business based on their market demand, geographic area, personal aptitude, and financial goals. These will be different for everyone - as should be expected. And yes I'm sure not everyone succeeds in with this opportunity, but then again tell me any business that can boast a 100% success rate for everyone that ever got involved with it - GOOD LUCK.
This opportunity may not be for everyone, but isn't that something honest dudiligence on the buyers part should determine. Rather than running around looking for someone to blame how about trying some honest self-reflection and just admit that this particular opportunity wasn't for you. If you truly gave it all you had and things didn't work out then just call it that and walk away - No Harm, No Foul, and move on.

Satisfied dealer? or someone marketing this company?

I stand by what I said. The cost of used batteries were much higher than any "estimates" they throw at you and the product did a lousy job. Every time I would be working on a battery, there was "problems". They did give a phone number for a tech to help with questions. He'd have you run through a littany of tests (which is reasonable) then have you do things like "hook a light up to it, drain the energy down to zero and start it again". After you do this over and over, it takes a lot of time on each individual battery to try and fix these problems. So again if you're thinking of buying this, good luck. And if you want to save some money, I'll sell you all of my equipment for 75% of what they're selling theirs for. Think of the money you'll save right off the bat!!!! If you're interested, just respond to this report and I'll let you know where I'll advertise all the equipment.

Report Not Factual

I have been a Battery Doctors Dealer since April 2009 and opened for business at the end of May 2009. Our business is great. This is also my eighth successful business. All others, except one, were sold. One was just closed.
I believe that Peter's report stems from not understanding how business works. No business is automatic. It requires hard work and creative sales, marketing, and management ability. Battery Doctors is no different.
Battery Doctors does NOT make promises as to how much money you can make. However, they do offer realistic projections. Potential profits are based on prices and availablity of used batteries in your particular area of the country. We get some free batteries and others we have to pay for.
Also, the percentage of batteries that will recondition varies based on the condition of the used batteries that you acquire. Junk yard batteries are generally just that...junk. Batteries that are recently pulled out of automobiles, say from an auto repair shop or trade-ins from your customers, have a much higher percentage of reconditioning. We buy both. The junk batteries are sold to smelters as scrap from which we make a handsome profit. Buying and selling junk batteries is a very large part of our business and profits.
We sell every reconditioned battery that we can produce and can never seem to produce enough to supply demand. Because of this, we started selling new batteries to keep from having to turn away customers. Our new battery sales exceeds our reconditioned battery sales but not our scrap battery sales. Keep in mind that you can get many suppliers to give you new batteries on consignment...no out of pocket cost to you.
There is no such thing as a "business in a box". Additional investment is required and additional training is a MUST. The procedure does work and the chemicals DO work. Before investing, I suggest that you talk to other successful Battery Doctors Dealers to get some idea of where you need to go with this and how much more you need to invest to accomplish your goals.
Batteries Doctors is a legitimate business, but making it work is up to you...not them! Good luck.

I was researching this company for a potential client that claims he was ripped off. Your ripoff report is of no value because it doesn't explain why you feel the company is a bad investment. Please described your specific experience so that others may learn from what happened to you.
